I don't think that a open case can really be a countable flaw. If you wear the watch nobody can see it. If you gave the watch to someone who can spot you because of a open case... When he's going to shake the watch, whether it's closed or open... he will hear you're wearing only a bag of nuts on your whrist. So, if this is the benchmark there can only be a super rep with a 1:1 movement - even if everything else is on spot

In my opinion, a rep can only be considered a super rep if it looks aesthetically identical to gen (from the naked eye) - including the movement design if the watch is open-back. That's the whole point of the super-rep definition and status.

Too bad if the the genuine watch design is intrinsically open-back, then replication is difficult unfortunately.

Yes, I agree. Many people will tell you "wow, you have a great watch, can I see it ?" and you're gonna have to remove it from your wrist and give them for a second. From there, anyone that knows a bit will spot the difference on the back.

That's why any watch with obvious tells on the back won't be considered as Super Reps (at least here).

In other words, a Super Rep (in this thread) would be a watch that you can hand to someone being confident that he won't find any tell by simply quickly inspecting it.
(unless, of course, he is a huge expert of that particular model... what goes without saying).

But this is not a conclusive reason in. Everyone who can spot a open case will call you out because of the sound of the rotor :blink:
