    Nivka's humble collection

    I’ve been meaning to put this together for a little while and was finally prompted by a member asking about my collection. I keep all this info in Google Keep; an easy little app that syncs across devices and is perfect for this hobby with a note per watch. Thanks for looking and tell me what you think my collection is missing

    These are my favourites lately (March 2019)

    These are easily my most worn pieces (October 2018)

    Group shot (a little old now)

    =================================
    Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15400
    =================================
    Factory: JF v2
    Movement: Miyota 9015 24j movement
    Dimensions: 41mm x 10.7 mm
    Lug width: 22.7mm
    Weight: 169g
    Mods: stock
    TD: M2M
    Thoughts: I love the white/silver dial. I used to have the 15400 black, but sold it because it felt too big. The white seems slightly more casual and , surprisingly, versatile. I wear it loose on the wrist and it feels a million bucks

    Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15450
    =================================
    Factory: JF
    Movement: Miyota 9015 24j movement
    Dimensions: 37mm x 10.8 mm
    Lug width: 22.7mm
    Weight: 135g
    Mods: need to silence the rotor
    TD: Sead
    Thoughts: Great watch. Very similar to the JF 15400 in terms of finishing. Bracelet is magnificent. Blue dial is amazing in all lights.

    Dimensions: 42mm x 14.1 mm
    Lug width: mm
    Weight: 178g
    Mods: stock
    TD: M2M
    Thoughts: I love it way more than I expected. I thought it would be too big. While it is the biggest watch I own, the proportions feel right and it's a great casual watch with fantastic wrist presence.

    =================================
    Franck Muller Casablanca 8880
    =================================
    Factory: GF
    Movement: a2824
    Dimensions: 39.5mm x 14.4 mm (55.3mm long)
    Lug width: 22mm
    Weight: 96g
    Mods: Hirsch strap
    TD: InTime
    Relevant threads: great review by @timnic54
    Thoughts: I just got it and the jury is still out. Beautiful to look at, but I'm not sure how versatile it is. With the leather strap, it feels quite formal, but I doubt it will fit under a shirt collar. Not sure if it's a jeans and t-shirt kind of watch either. Very difficult to photograph!

    =================================
    Jaeger Le Coultre Master Ultra Thin Moonphase
    =================================

    Factory: ZF
    Movement: Miyota 9015 modified with gen moonphase
    Dimensions: 39 x 10.4mm (41.3mm with crown)
    Weight: 70g
    Mods: Jacob strap
    TD: M2M from mech500
    Thoughts: I knew I wanted this watch as soon as I saw it had been repped. I've tried on the gen and this certainly is NWBIG. The working moonphase is cool, but pretty much useless to me lol. It goes perfectly with a suit. Very nice to have a proper dress watch in my collection, even if I don't wear it very frequently.

    Movement: Asian 2836
    Dimensions: 41mm (45mm w crown) x 15.6 mm
    Lug width: 20mm
    Weight: 183g
    Mods: straightened the dial
    TD: Toro
    Thoughts: great watch. Has a great gen feeling to it. Amazing bracelet. I don't care about the inaccurate decoration. I wish I'd got the orange numerals for something a little different. If you wanna swap let me know and we can set up a formal WTT thread.

    Movement: awesome
    Dimensions: 35x11.4mm
    Lug width: 18mm
    Weight: 46g
    Thoughts: my first Luxury gen. Picked it up off Gumtree and I won't ever sell it. I don't wear it enough because it feels so small at 35mm. Very good under a shirt cuff.

    Omega Speedmaster First Omega in Space (FOIS)

    Factory: unknown
    Movement: ST19

    Lug width: 19mm
    Weight: 135g
    Mods: Gen crystal from cousins UK
    TD: Toro
    Thoughts: I love this watch. My first modified watch. It has given me grief with the chrono button coming loose 3 times and the movement dying at one stage. It's a crowd-pleaser though. Thinking about selling it and upgrading to a gen moonwatch 3572.50 (hesalite sandwich)

    Mods: Strodda relumed the dial and hands and put a prof 2xAR crystal on it.
    TD: Sead at Supermirrors
    Thoughts: I. Love. This. Watch. The dial is magnificent: it's not sunburst but it changes from matte black, to chocolate to glossy depending on the light. The black can be more formal than the blue (see below) and I feel comfortable wearing it with semi formal or with business attire.

    Thoughts: My first PP. I love it, but if I had my time over, I would have gone with the black dial given I ended up getting the blue Nautilus. It's been through rubber, leather and perlon straps. Pretty versatile watch. Great vacation watch. When I bought it, it was a fantasy colour but PP announced at the 2017 Baselworld they would be making it.

    Thoughts: PF came out of nowhere with this watch. The main shortfalls are the faint date font and the misaligned hour markers (they should form a continuous ring with the minute marker dots). This gets a lot of wrist time!

    Mods: I kept it stock for 6 months. Then I went all out with gen dial, roulette dwo, crystal, movement service and pressure tested to 200m. All done by tickleshoes
    TD: Lucy
    Thoughts: Very classy, especially on the jubilee, although the oyster adds versatility. Lucy was the natural choice for this watch given the temperamental reputation of the sh3135 and Lucy's reputation for excellent QC. I was considering buying a gen DJ to add to my gen sub-c for versatility, but I figured I could build a franken for 15% of the cost of a gen. (total cost was usd1455/aud2024 excluding shipping)

    Mods: This has gone through a few iterations. Initially, I sanded off the cyclops, bleached the insert, removed the pearl, aged and relumed dial from interaktiv which I added some hairspray to, swapped in a clasp from a 6 digit because I love the glide lock. Not accurate but it's how I like it. Then I washed off the hairspray because I overdid it. I also had to switch the silver DWO, which was a first for me, because I screwed the first movement. Then I bought a gen insert from sub007 and it freshened it up a lot. So I bought a custom relumed cartel dial from Tripdog, who nailed it. I also had my first attempt at reshaping the case by shaving a bit from the inside of the crown guards and widening the lug holes. Pretty happy with how it's looking now.
    TD: Marvellous Replicas
    Thoughts: pretty happy with how this one turned out. I love the bi-directional bezel: I'll be able to use this as a stopwatch at work. Love the silver dwo with open 6s and 9s

    Thoughts: This is my first luxury gen. It is perfection. I am blown away by the level of attention to the finishing. You can see what the factories are striving towards. Having said that, the Noob v7 is an excellent replication of this watch. It's just we know and love this watch so much that it gets scrutinised so much. The insert is obviously stunning. I wasn't expecting how much better the crystal and dial are. The beveling on the cyclops, the clarity of the crystal and the crispness of the dial printing take it to the next level.

    Thoughts: Beautiful watch. Unfortunately mine is a little thicker (11mm) than others (closer to 10mm). It's hard not to compare it to the nautilus. I love the thinness of the nautilus and the BPv1, but the JF is special in its own right. The bracelet catches the light like a disco ball and is less able to be dressed down to casual. It's also a little big for me. I ended up trading it for a TC 16234

    Thoughts: a massive chunk of steel. I wanted it for work because of the date, chrono and rotating bezel. Problem is I can't easily get my sleeve over the 18mm thickness and I'm scared I'm going to break the a7750 movement by using the chrono. I should sell it.

          Yeah you're right. Enough with the subs already, hey?! I can't afford a franken project at the moment, but I should branch into some other brands; AP or IWC might be the way to go.

I love the SD4K too much and I am between that and BLNR, anyhow you know I have some plans down the road for the months to come so maybe I need to postpone.. now thinking to get a Yuki inside my Bulk and a Yuki inside a new SA3135 SD4K

                    You've been lusting after the LN sub for a while, buy it when you're in Hawaii!

                      Amazing collection! - now I am inspired to do one of my own sometime, though I doubt I'll have as nice pics as you've got.

                      You've got quite a bit of bracelet pieces and divers, although it's still a really balanced collection. If I had it, I might consider a flight-inspired piece like a Navitimer or one of them IWC pilots, on black leather.
