Before I start buying more from this local guy, I need to find out what he's selling me. The dude keeps saying his friend gets v7's and his friend ships them to him for him to sell. He's going to sell me another, but I'm just trying to find out what he's selling me exactly.

It's bloody awful. A couple of really obvious notes:

The casting in general looks rough as hell.

The pearl is hideous.

It's got a crown between the SWISS MADE which is only on the new 41mm Subs - no Noob had that.

Stay away. And ONLY USE RWI TDS.

Yep, I guess I've ran into a string of bad luck and ineptitude. I guess I'm going to try to ask the guy for some money or all of the money back tomorrow: he did give me the phone number and such. If he doesn't it's whatever I'll just be down $200. I mean at some point I have to learn not to go with the easy way out; well, that or I just need to learn that if it's too good to be true..it likely is. Great learning opportunity though.

Just a few more things to point out that may help you in the future. The case and dial are a complete mismatch. The dial with the crown at 6 has already been mentioned to be the dial for the 41mm sub, the 126610. THe marking between the lugs of 116710 denotes the GMT Master II, not a sub (which would be 116610.) The last thing that may not be as obvious to someone new to watches are the lugs themselves. They are thicker when viewed from the top on this case, and correct for the 116xxx models. The 116xxx models have a 20mm wide bracelet. The dial, being a 126610 should be in a 126610 case which would have slightly thinner lugs due to the 41mm model having a 21mm bracelet as opposed to 20mm.
