I‘ve read that the best method to add chamfers to a case involves a “lapping machine”. I’m pretty sure this doesn’t mean you have to give it to Mo Farah or a very enthusiastic pupper. I’m reasonably confident it’s a special metal grinder/polisher.

However, if you don’t have one of these machines, then you can always have a go with an appropriate sized flat metal file. There’s various threads about this dotted around. Based on the recommendations in one of those threads, I got myself a set of Vallorbe needle files off eBay, which are meant to be the best. But I also use various other cheap ones - my lack of skills means I can make an equally impressive mess of it regardless of the quality of my tools.
