I also use a watch winder for four watches. Two Gens and two TCs. All watches have reliable 2824 movements. That's why I'm not worried at all about
perhaps shortening the life of the movement. And if a movement breaks down after a few years, the replacement does not cost so much.
The most important thing is to set the correct number of rotations per day. For the 2824 movement, for example, between 650 and 900 rotations are suggested. My watch winder therefore runs for 30 minutes (at one turn every 9 seconds), followed by a three-hour pause.
FiloViridae made another good point. With the watch winder you minimize the risk of incorrect handling when manually adjusting the watch.
