The Bathurst 1000 is on for those of you who get it locally. That's most of the world these days so if you have never seen an Aussie Touring car race check you TV guides.
Mr Penske is there, he's got two world championships being decided today but he's here is OZ because in his words, "This is the big one".

Absolutely I am! It's our biggest race of the year.. Such an awesome place! I drove it a few months ago and TV just doesn't do it justice how steep some parts of the track are!

To see how much Rossi and Hinchcliffe are struggling shows how hard this race is!

Agreed, until you have been there to see for yourself its very hard to picture just how steep the course is. As Roger Penske said there is no track like it anywhere in the world.

Roger has two world championships at stake today (He's just secured one of them) but where is he? Here in OZ at The Mountain. It's not "just" a track its more than that. It's special in a way that until you watch a few and preferably see it with your own eys you can't understand. The only place I can compare it to the Nürburgring. I don't say that lightly and I don't say it with Aussie bias I honestly think its true.

Yeah good result at RA but he hasn't won here yet and he was interviewed before and said it's top of his organisations list at the moment. Scotty Mac is a machine so hopefully they can pull it off!

McLaughlin's lap is ridiculous.

The second best lap of The Mountain ever. IMHO The Lap of the Gods still surpasses it; even it was a bit slower it was perfect.

McLaughlin in 2017 was better for me. Not by much and probably cause Murph was a bit before my time. But seeing him blow the field away by that much going that quickly was ridiculous. Murph's lap still mega for sure but his car was that much better that year. There was a lot of angry people about that car. McLaughlin wasn't that much quicker across the year.

Well I'm biased, we were there for The Lap of the Gods racing in a support category (Sports Sedan). You could hear the crowd at the top from the pits as he passed.
