Goes without saying though that any dealer will try to pass on a rejected watch to hopefully a “not so eagle eyed client “ I have actually been such a client in the past, not noticing gaps and crooked markers until someone highlights it on here, then it drives me insane

Oh yes for sure, though many theories go around such as that they lend the watch until the QC is approved, so no idea why they would pass down to next buyer. Also, if they keep inventory themselves, why dont they do QC themselves?

Anyways, if it’s from the same TD, then it’s more likely a small batch that got affected or one same piece.

I think we won’t get any better in this batch ? My 3rd marker crooked just a little bit and i concern the next one would be worst, I noticed some gen have a gap between 12 marker too, I think 3 marker can be fix, right ? But can anyone confirm that gap on the 12 marker can easily fix ?

I have a local watch repair man that says he can easily repair markers and says that stick markers are typically glued on and can be removed and realigned. Not sure about this rep though.

Is the 12 o’clock index not even? Looks like right stick is lower than left. I had the same problem with mine

The process of realignment goes usually like this:

Markers are removed and glued into a new place. Most reps markers have feet’s that go into the dial which need to be removed

I don’t think we can fix the gap between the 12 marker then…

The date hand misalignment bothers me more. I wouldn't touch the 12 markers. I think crooked indeces like 3 are fixable. Eg. legend could do that with my 5711.

Yes I kinda took your watch and shook it very hard and then soaked it in brandy overnight. The markers magically realigned themselves the next morning and I could post it back to you. :legend:

Is the date switching supposed to be a clean ‘jump’ from one date another on this movement and GEN?

I have a Seiko with the same date mechanism and there it just glides little bit by little bit with each hour until it’s 12AM and only then makes the jump. So on the QC it’s probably 10PM I assume, that’s why it’s more towards rhe right side of the 11th to make place for the switch to 12.

I wish a rep owner here could confirm this plausible explanation.

LOL. Then I can easily copycat your magic because I have a lot of home-made fruit brandy (pálinka) :nana:
