Patek Philippe 6102R Celestial Moon Age. Astronomical disappointment. Modifications not possible.

From what I understand, you would need three fixes:

- Print new star on a transparent transfer sheet for the first disk
- Print the real star pattern on a normal transfer sheet and replace the existing dial pattern. Put some lack finish
- 3D print a white bottom moon phase disk and print a star background on a normal transfer sheet to fill the interval between each moonphase

It seems doable. For example, I made quickly this reference layer from Patek website: i . imgur / OiqfH6L.jpg

(it seems RWI destroys my link every time)

Who currently makes the best Patek 6102R Celestial rep? Never bought a rep before and spent all day looking for who the best rep maker is for it.

Read the review mate ;) and this whole thread. And if you already read it and is still asking then you shouldn’t buy this rep. Because it’s more complicated than me or someone telling you which you should buy.

Moreover, it is also not available anymore.
I asked TB among other TD a few weeks back and while it is still listed, the factory does not seem to produce this "cheap" version anymore.

That's good news as I expect they will produce a more complicated version even the price can be higher.

Aha, I am not the only one that was "Oh, they did a new one" and then, I look a the dial and it is your immediate "well, it's terrible". Too bad.

New one from AIF just posted in intime
Amazing different factories keep releasing s**ty remakes of this watch without improving anything.

It must be immensely popular in their domestic market. Since they don’t care about the faults and keep copying other factories to “get a piece of the pie”.

The worst part being that if they only took the "original" dial, put a half decent second star layer to add density and made a logic moonphase (easier to make than the actual one), it would be kind of alright.

Am I the only one feeling that the star pattern look like some mold ? The more I look at it, the more it makes me uneasy.

One of the most terrible rep I've ever seen. They should not make it. The stars look like in a toy watch lol

This is the TWF version. Flaws are descending dates (instead of ascending), wrong shape and color of the moon, too few stars on the main disk, main disk is matte and other than that it’s positive thing is that it don’t have the rotating stars disk.

I got in touch with a DHG seller about the non micro-rotors 400$ we spoke of earlier this year.
Strangely enough, no TD's seem to be able to source it (FatPanda, Geektime and Jtime) which makes me wonder how the relationship with factories works since they each have a good network.

Anyway, some pictures and a comment: it seems that the upper disk is only for decoration since it's blank, nothing seems to be printed on it. Maybe a production shortcut?
