Looks like there's a new release. Specs have yet to be published on the website, but thickness doesn't look too bad to me (gen is 10.8mm), so we'll see. It's a big boy at 42mm x 50.5mm (L2L)

Looks like a plated A2836 GMT.

Major differences to gen:

- Dial color comes only in Navy and Black. The gen is black in most lights, and dark navy in sunlight/bright light. Navy is probably the best choice.
- The bottom GMT hand is huge and you can see it underneath the hand stack. Big error to me
- No brown Strap with the stitching pattern. Similarly, no gen buckle either.
- Bottom hand is just a fixed GMT hand (24 hr rotation)
- Faux pushers

Those are the major faults. Tempting though... as it's the best we've seen yet.

Looks pretty good tbh, but even the gen doesn't look like a Patek :D

Ahh. They've finally repped the Patek "Zenith" (or is that Zenith "Patek"? ;))

Does the gen functions will work?

I don't think so, only date on 6 o'clock is work, the 2nd time zone and hand is fix with hour hand, that's my guess.
because 9015 do not have gmt function. So the little 2 dot on the dial to show am pm is fix also. Or maybe can use push crow at 8 and 11 o'clock to adjust.

Update,
just saw video on TS watch, the 2nd time zone hour hand is fix with home hour hand, but the 2nd time hand is 24 hours date is working. The push crown at 8 and 11 o'clock is not function. So the 2 dots show am pm index is faux. Do not work.. too bad. :(

Same as with the recent rep of the Aquanaut 5164

sorry, but the thickness to me is probably the worst flaw, it's at least 2 cm but looks like 3. For the PP freaks who went overboard on the ppf "thickness" difference am confused how this is deemed acceptable

- Seconds hand counterweight is black on gen. This one is blue

The seconds hand counterweight is blue in the gen 5524G like in this rep:
https://www.patek.com/en/collection/...ions/5524G-001

It is black in the 5522A.

Dial color doesn't look that off to me. If you look at the pictures on Patek's own site and compare them to these on Trusty:
http://www.trustytime.cc/index.php?m...ducts_id=20153

The strap has to be changed anyway.

Only big fault IMO is the that you can see the white ring of the GMT hand as you pointed out.

I am wondering why they didn't make the 5522A, which is simpler to rep functionally.

Let's wait until someone can actually measure it.gen is 10.8 mm and if trusty is correct (that's a big if though ;) ) the rep is 12mm which is not too bad. I hear you that we are nitpickers for the nautilus, but that's because the nautilus is meant to be very thin, it's one of its key characteristics. This one here is by design a bigger watch.

I was gonna order the grey-blue PPF Nautilus..... should I order this instead? Or both of them? I have a ton of Patek right now lol

I am SO glad you pointed this out, I was stressing over it lol

The GMT hand... I might need an expert of some sort to paint the center circle blue.

It's deemed as acceptable due to a few things:

- GMTs generally are going to be thicker, so it's understandable.
- It's the first release of this model, and overall it's good. There are lots of things to be fixed on it. If there are further iterations, then we will begin complaining about what isn't fixed in a v2 or v3 - that's just human nature.
- The Nautilus is a simple 3 hander with date, and has been a rep for some time. That type of movement is capable of having a thin case, so we consistently didn't like the 'plated' movements that added unnecessary thickness.

Lol i've noticed! You are obsessed with'em......

Come on mate, haven't you got enough Nautilus'? This one is special. Only thing as you said is, if you get someone to paint the center circle blue OR live with it. Though the face of the watch is quite busy. I don't think anyone will notice that the center circle is white.

I NEEEEED this!!! lol.... I'm very close to pulling the trigger on this one myself. Only thought holding me back is if they'll release a 5522A. Because the 5524G has some functional problems; The two pushcrowns don't work. Local/Home indicator is a faux, which frankly is not that important. The GMT hand i think can't be set, although it moves around, which is good.

Looks like it would be easy enough to rep.

+1. The 5524g is a pass for me. Too many issues, in my opinion, and just dislike the faux functions. The three-hand version would be a win for me (and much easier to rep). It's always crazy to me that they go with the complicated version first, which is almost always less convincing as a rep.
