For those who bought custom alligator straps, what thickness did you get, considering the watch is 9.5mm thick?

Should I go for 2.5mm, 3.5mm or 4.5mm?

I have a JLC MUT small second with 7.58mm and custom ordered a strap with 2mm from CF. So 2.5mm thickness sounds like a good ratio for a 9.5mm thick watch.

WOW!! Great style. Love the creativity. It's a rare but striking combination. Haven't seen it in the wild. Impressive.

@Godfathar: I've read a lot of your PP comments and you have a lot of knowledge regarding PP. Also you have the philosophy of making decisions based on "which is closest to gen", like myself.
I've also read your thread on PP 5227R with the grey alligator Camille Fournet. You have both the 5227R BP version and the 5296G ZF version, so i can't help asking!
If you can't afford them both, which one would you recommend of the two? :)

That is really nice. Thanks for sharing - you’ve convinced me to get that combo.

andyc mate the lug width is 21 and buckle width is 16 for sure.

Godfathar measured it. You can see it in the pictures on page 16 in this thread.

Are you 100% certain?? I read elsewhere that it is 19 x 16, the same as the gen

The gen 5296 is not 19 x 16, it’s 21 x 16 like the rep. You’re maybe thinking of the 5227 which is 19 x 16 (as is the rep or that reference)!

I much appreciate the link - but I can't see any post from Godfathar on that page which measures the lug width??

AS _DC_ says above, I have a suspicion that I've been confusing the 5296 with the 5227.

Apologies for the contradictions.

I was on the verge of pulling the trigger on a Camille Fournet grey strap in advance of my incoming rep (which will be here tomorrow !!!), hence my enquiries to ensure I had the right dimensions.

I was further confused by a well intentioned PM from a well known member that stated the spec as 19/16 - I guess it was an error.

andyc oh i see. Because the page I am referring to is showing Godfathars pictures measuring a 5296R (21/16).

the measurements of the 5227 I dont know. But I think DC must know.

in your case best to wait. Too much confusion haha

andyc here you go mate. to avoid confusion, here's the 5296G on gen strap via Camille Fournet. It has the 21 stamp on it.

Perfect confirmation - many thanks.

(And I see that we both joined RWI in the same month in the same year - serendipity :))
