Not really a watch you, or anyone would ever plan on swimming with, is it?

Fantasies. Not the slightest close to a gen. If you like them, buy them. None of your friends will know what a 'Patek Philippe' is and those who do, will know anyways that you can't afford one.

Thanks Nipe

Since it's a fantasy I'll probably skip.

I am looking for a good 1:1 replica of a PP.

Do you have any suggestions?

There not popular watches so the percentage of people that know what the real one looks like 1:1 is going to be so small id have a punt to say you will never meet one

Thanks everyone. I will stick to the Aquanaut 5167A ZF

It's surprising that they can't make real a working moonphase watch for $500 Chinese rep watch (real moonphase, not day night indicator)

When there are plenty $300-600 brand name GEN that have working moonphase, where most of their costs are attributed to marketing and branding, only a fraction goes into the actual product.

If you looked around you would find a few genuine moonphase movements for less than $500 around here.... Also, if your only consideration was making a "real working moonphase", you wouldn't be starting this thread in the first place.

Before taking a dump on chinese rep makers literally breaking the law to let you buy cheap watches, maybe look around and see if any of the $300-$600 GEN watchmakers you love so much are able to reproduce the fine guilloche textures or movement finishing seen in some of these reps. I assume you that you are vastly, vastly under-estimating the difficulty of finishing these watches.

I didn't take any dump on chinese rep makers. I am just saying since Gen brand can make it for less than $500, why can't rep Chinese makers do the same?

Also, are you saying Citizen, Movada, Bulova, etc have lower quality than Chinese Rep?

The gens you list all have quartz movements. It’s not worth factories repping those. Automatic moon phase gens that do get repped well would have an automatic movement, which adds cost. As mentioned by another poster the ZF Master Ultra Thin has a working Moonphase, beautiful watch.
