I didn't know the PF had a thick plating. (how thick?)

How different is this from the wrapped ones?
Or wrapped and plated is the same thing?

PF hast not extra plating, it is custom made.

Wrapped is still a mysterious term which isn’t clear jet.

How thick the plating is? Nobody knows, the factory can tell a lot but nobody knows what is true. For me the color is important and that the extra plating doesn’t rub off so fast like the factory standard.

When you say extra plating do you still refer to the plating found in the PF, or just generally speaking?

I have the RG PF for less than a year now, and I cannot see any discoloration or exposed areas.
I am curious to see what other get from this watch regarding its plating.

With extra plating I mean that I brought the PF to a jeweller and he re-plated it with 18k real gold to get at least a closer look to a gen....

On all my plated watches the color rubs of at the inside bracelet where the buckle rubs against the bracelet. It also depends in which climate you life

Yes I think I have seen a picture in the past that showed this (I think it was you?)
So no issues after you re-plated your PF in that area?

Was re-plating expensive for the nautilus PF?
I wonder did your jeweller remove the mechanism from the watch? I am not familiar with this process.

Did your jeweller had to remove the movement to re-apply the gold plating?

Yes he had to

I am also looking to find a specialist to re-apply the gold plating, but it seems to be a bit of a hard work and they suggest to speak to the manufacturer :p

Is your jeweller available on-line to get a quote?

Also did you find the cost for re-plating the watch reasonable? (what was the cost btw?)

Yes my jeweller is still available and doing this kind work....

Since I bought a gen solid gold I gave up with gold reps, because in my eyes and my experience none rep gold is like a gen. But maybe other member made other experience.....
