Well, I agree. When making abstraction of the inacuracies to gen, it's a great looking watch. I've had it the whole morning on my wrist and it's superb.

Yes, it's a bit stiffer than my gen Pam rubber but quite confortable, and I actually enjoy the Officine Panerai painting. The lume effect is not interesting to me, but in bright light it's really nice.

I bought this watch not having the same critical eye as you guys and once I put on the black rubber strap it really pops and is comfortable on the wrist. I don't use the GMT so its a non issue for me and the rotor is noisy which I am going to try and fix. But it's a beautiful watch . I kind of thought the white lettering on the strap was a bit obnoxious and had no idea that it had lume on it but I think it looks really cool at night. I love things that glow and have a couple Ball watches. I looked to see if gen straps had that feature and couldn't find it but none the less I love the watch. I will definitely buy a version 2 or 3 later after you guys put heat on the dealers. I went ahead and bought it because with covid and all the other craziness going on in the world I wanted one in hand in case there isn't a V2

I kind of figured. At some point I will end up getting a gen strap but that one is so comfortable

I thought the straps looked odd on a webpage picture, but it looks pretty good in actual pics.
I like how the black and white offset each other, and the lume looks pretty

Yes it does. Look at the 1122 I posted about and read the spec sheet. It says the second strap is black with white illuminated OP letters. The primary strap is a pet strap you see with the 984.

I was looking for it on the site and like the Mike horn strap, it wasn't listed on the site for a while. But I bet you can find one. At a botique or ad and also with a Panerai concierge.

Had my watch guy polish the CG and lube the rotor. Watch is silent and CG matches. Also water tested to 6 ATM. Happy camper here

I can now see what all the fuss is about the polished CG and 24hr GMT hand.. My 088 arrived today (well yesterday now) as well as a 237 I got off M2M..
The 237 is an old H Fac model and is simply stunning, 24hr GMT hand, polished CG, simply amazing!
The 088 is also very nice on the wrist, but I do sort of wish it too had a polished CG...

The 237 is an old H Fac model and is simply stunning, 24hr GMT hand, polished CG, simply amazing!
The 088 is also very nice on the wrist, but I do sort of wish it too had a polished CG...

I'll work on it tonight and post, I can't wait to see how it renders with correct polished CG on the wrist.

Damn BREXIT!!! I'd love to be able to send my CG for a polish.... looks great, looking forward to seeing it married together with the 088 now!
