Hi, I got same model recently and for sure it isn’t Noob, I did some research and I thinks it’s from Davidsen (DSN).

Above already commented that this is 7750, as directed by TD. For this movt. Is always 24 hours. 12/24 problems are relevant for in-house models with gmt

I believe the gen movement is also based off of 7750 (OP.... VIII?? Panerai calls it, I believe). I wonder why a replica factory would use a wrong in house movement for this and cause 12 vs 24 hour GMT issue lol. Regardless, this is good news.

That's right, pam088 / 089/237/224/156 and other gmt in the bettarini case had movt. op.Vlll, for replicas we used 7750 with the gmt module. They are similar in all functions and characteristics.

Newer gen GMT models (PAM438 /441/320 and others) had in-house movements having GMT 12 hours, with p.9001.

Until a clone appeared, an existing 7750 was placed there, such as in rep 088, and the clock had an incorrect 24 hour hand gmt, which was not correct.

Later, VSF made a clone of p.9001 based on p.9000 and so everything fell into place and gmt in rep began to work normally in 12 hour format, and it became possible to put gmt's hand behind the hour's hand, hiding it. This VSF variant has been used up to now and in all new fashions since GMT.

The only thing is, the stars did not match for pam531 which gen had p.9003 with gmt in 24 hour format. While the old replica ZF or V6F (I don’t remember exactly, maybe both), had a 7750 GMT hand was 24 hours, and everything was correct. VSF later re-released 531 with clone p.9001, but it was already in 12 o'clock format, which spoiled the functionality, but behind the movt., It looked better with the correct position of the balance wheel.

This whole story is confusing people, and they are afraid of getting the wrong GMT hand. But if VSF did not put clone p.9001 inside 088, which is unlikely, besides, 7750 is indicated in the description, then in this case, there should be no problems. 7750 with gmt is not difficult. They are unlikely to do stupid things.

Another thing is more interesting, was it worth VSF to put a satin-finished CG from 111, instead of a polished one for 088?
I doubt very much that in the last year of release they changed the CG to satin.

Seems you're right. Most of the photos I've seen are a shiny CG.

Not the most ideal solution, but I suppose some cape cod polishing cloth and elbow grease might do the trick to restore the shiny lustre back

Shine is possible, but you will not be able to polish it "like a mirror" to make it look like the case as a whole. I think the CG form is also different ...

Oh... Wait wait wait. Good eye. The CG on this model looks to be 100% incorrect. It should be shiny and also as far as I know the shiny CGs from late 90s Pam models do not look concave (or... Domed... Idk how to articulate this properly). From the side view, it should be more flat than current CGs that have a round dome shape. Can someone confirm my knowledge on this is correct for this R-Series?

I have handled many Pam 001Bs and 002Bs with older style CGs and they do not look anything like the modern brushed CGs used on 111. If 88 is supposed to have Shiny older style CG, it's not just a matter of capecoding the CG surface. The shape will still be off.
