PAM 111 vs 312 for a first and only Panerai purchase?

So I'd like to get the opinions of the Panerai enthusiasts on this forum cause I'm a bit confused on which to pick.

I want a PAM and boiled it down to these two. A 312 by VSF or a 111 by Noob...

I like the symmetry of the 111 more and don't care for date. I also like that it's slimmer.

But I like the brushing and polishing mix of the 312 of the 312 and it seems to pop more?

Just curious on if anyone has both and which one they'd stick with or suggest for only one Panerai watch?

Having owned the marlin 111 I'd say get both and wear them for a while to get a sense of what feels good on your wrist. I did not like the feel of it in spite of liking 47mm pams. Just sell the one that fits worse.

EuroTime25 seems like you initially ordered the v5 but had to "settle" for the v11, is there a reason you preferred the v5 over the v11?

Didn't settle for the V11. I ordered the V5 but I thought the nipple effect wont be on it, but unfortunately it did it wasnt horrible but I did see few V11 and they didnt have it. ( and I thought they were both same versions) Also ordered the 1118 too with it. But when the order was placed and about to ship they had Visa issues and still do. So I had to wait for a refund. But once it did this was my chance of actually getting the V11 which I really wanted and it has no nipple effect. So I ordered from different TD and also decided not to go with the Pam1118 because of the strap, and I really like the 1117 which I will wait or what ever the blue one. But I got the V11 of 111 a classic must have, and I got the Pam1661 love the blue numerals. I also want the Pam700 which is why I ordered the 1661 but the Pam700 on thr TD side it a 47mm but the Gen is 49mm. So for now its a pass.

Looks closely the V5 has the pin that holds the needles it has a nipple like effect. A Pam111 Genuine doesnt. Same with V11. Some have more than others. Again this is something that most dont care but something I notice and was going to bug me. I wore a Parnis and people thought it was a Panerai. So most dont notice.

If I had to choose one I would get the 111
Having said you can’t go wrong with either and as a few have mentioned it makes sense to buy both or whichever you can get your hands on first.

It is an angle of view, under a gazilion magnification loupe. And that is assuming every rep Noob has the same pin sourced from the same batch. By the time someone notices the nipple, a) you will know it is a 1 in a 1000 Paneristi and b) a very, very weird situation.

No-one in the normal world will know - I have the VSF 111 and cannot be happier. And forgive me friends, but I've been told the nipple exists on the VSF as well - I just don't see it...

If you buy a single panerai, it's more like 111. This model combines most of the qualities that reflect the specificity of this brand. In addition to a more comfortable fit and overall, in my opinion, a better match between rep and gen. And yes of course it should be a noob.

i had both , and i have sell the 312.

both are good, but the thickness of the 312 is killing it (especially on my chicken wrist)

only pro i have with the 312 , is the automatic module, no need to re winding it every three days

other than that , 111 is overall better looking !
