Calling all Panerai specialists

Received this in a trade with some other watches I don’t know anything about it because I don’t know much about Panerai (yet)

The seller claims to have had it for a couple of years but can’t remember any details

wonder if anybody could shed some light as to the maker/model number etc

Love the watch feels incredibly well built just a bit snug on my wrist could do with another link I think

Anyway see what you think

PAM196 with A7753
Check Ale guide to identify factory and version. Might be Noob V1 but I am not 100% sure (would need to look into details)

I respect your knowledge on pams, but isn’t the 196 on alligator?

Pam 236

The 236 is different

PAM250 is same as 236 but without metal bracelet (with a strap, rubber, leather, canvas,...)

I’m still confused with the way they change metals and finishes to create a new piece lol. Both polished and brushed goin on has me thinking a Ti version?

Take a close look at the dial, the main difference between 196 and 236/250 is there

The bracelet throws off the would-be identifiers of the watch. Just remember, even in gen, watches that originally were sold with rubber or leather straps could also use bracelets (although in reps it's not fully guaranteed). But what remains fixed is the other details like the dial. It looks to be a PAM196 made by Noob in 2010 (so-called V1) based on the details. The presence of numbers instead of small sticks on the hour markers with numbers indicating the minutes at the periphery of the dial differentiates the PAM196 with the PAM236/250.

It’s definitely a 196 on a bracelet. The gen was only available on a strap like the 188.

However, the date wheel looks a little sunken for a 7753. OP see if the date changes with the 11:00 side push button. If yes it’s A7753. If date changes from the crown then it’s standard 7750.

Also the 7753 has crown positions 0 for winding and 1 for time set. The crown has no second position for date because the date is changed from via 11:00 button.

Thanks all for your help and yes there’s a little button at the 11 o’clock that advances the date, when you pull the crown out it sets the time only

If that's the case, then it may be a Noob V2 because the Noob V1 had an A7750 movement and so would have a faux date change button at the left side (not exactly at 11 but more on between 10 and 10:30 on the rep). The date wheel looked deeper though and the fonts looked thicker and so I came to the incorrect conclusion that it was a V1. Also A7753 movements had this common issue where the chrono hand @3 was wobbly and not centered at 0, which is apparently not present on your watch (this flaw is common but it does not appear in all reps) adding more to my suspicion that is was a V1. My apologies.

I think it’s my pictures as in the flesh the date wheel is hardly sunken at all so would agree it’s A7753

i know the A7750’s were much worse in that regards
