The VSF 960 thickness is about 14.6mm. I would imagine it's rather close to gen which is similar to the 682.

I'm not sure what Panerai is smoking by putting the OP XXXIV movement into a 17k euros watch. Why couldn't they just stick with P9010?

Fun fact: The OP XXXIV has a date quick set function, whereas the VS 960's movement has a Hour quick set function because it's based on the P9000/9010.

i think its somewhere around 14.5 mm since the PAM 682 uses the same movement with the PAM 960, and if i recall correctly, i've read somewhere that the PAM 682 is 14.5 mm thick

so i think in regards to the thickness, its probably close to gen, or off by 0.1 or 0.2 mm which is negligible

What do you guys think of the movement in this rep? It’s a great looking watch and I’m still looking for a watch that I could wear while swimming/snorkling (won’t do that with my pam111)

why would you not swim/snorkel with your 111?

Just to make sure it stays clean and free of scratches. I know they’re perfectly (made) for those activities, I just try to take good care of it.

Very nice watch - I love the black and blue contrast. Am wondering if someone will update the bands going forward to reflect the logo on the strap which is painted in blue on the gen. As for the one you received, it looks fantastic - how does it feel? As good as it looks? I'm about to pull the trigger on this same one.

The PAM682 uses the P.9010, The PAM960 uses the OPXXXIV so no they do not use the same movement.

Is the crystal wrong? Gen is flat and this is fisheye?

Thank you! I still don't think we know the gen thickness. Until then I will wait... I'm not sure how accurate it this rep (thickness wise)

Hi mysterio

Is it correct to assume then that the rep 960 uses the incorrect clone movement, since the rep apparently has the P.9010 clone? Thanks

Yes the rep 960 uses the incorrect movement. The movement of the gen does not change the date moving forward/backward the hour hand as in the P.9010 movement. They should have put a 7750 movement on this one to replicate the gen movement (this movement has the seconds hand already on a subdial at 9 like the pam and has quick set date function like the gen)
