To me, the best part seems to be the structure of the FC whereas there seem to be 4 different shades of grey as opposed to the 2 tone bezels that came with the earlier attempts. As far as I can remember the gen too has 4 tone/shade structure. So well done!

Just to add a few things here, the XF/VSF PAM616 was originally released in April with the P9000 clone movement.

This one appears to have the same movement as the April release as it doesn't have the little visual differences of the V2 found in the 441.

But the Carbotech pattern definitely looks better with at least 3 shades of grey and of varying sizes.

The QC pics are from the April release, you can tell this by the older order number.

So I guess this is a VSF/XF 616 V2 case with V1 movement.

Let's be clear. The PAM616 Carbotech uses a P.9000 movement. The PAM441 Ceramica uses a P.9001 movement. Their movements should not be considered interchangeable, especially when dealing with open caseback models. However, in the case of closed caseback reps like the PAM616 and the PAM569, I guess using the V2 P.9001 clone with the un-used GMT function is a compromise that some may find acceptable.

Well, always happy to welcome another member into the PAMily. :)

Visually, there is a slight visual difference in the structure of the P.9000 and the P.9001 movement, mainly the power reserve gauge, so open casebacks would automatically disqualify the use of the more complicated P.9001 on P.9000 based models.

But in a closed caseback situation, where none of this is visible, and functionally the P.9001 and P.9000 are identical (with only the P.9001 having a GMT complication but since there is no GMT hand to be used so you wouldn't know about it), the use of the V2 P.9001 clone movement would not be a bad choice, IMHO.

@mysterio Thank you for the kind and warm welcome to the pamily haha
there is so much information i am currently trying to absorb, but your quick pointers on the p9000 vs 9001 is intriguing and informative for a newbie like me
i also look forward to the new p3000 upgraded movement - they seem to have accurately replicated this movement visually from the caseback which is perfect for OCD people like me
