Today I got my brand new PAM441 from the new factory, called: VSF

I have ordered this watch immediately after the release, but to be honest, not because of the watch, because of the new clone P.9001 movement.

I ordered this watch from our TD chazingtime.co, Ken and his team did a great job as always. Thanks for that!

http://chazingtime.co/product/pam44...-edition-brown-asso-strap-p-9001-super-clone/

The package was huge and I wonder why the bag is that big just for a watch. But there was a "litte" surprise inside next to the 441, a PIG

Nice and thanks VSF, that's a cool gift.

Ok but now let's start with the review.

I know ALE will make a complete review about the whole new 441, and I'm looking forward to that, so that's why I just focused these thread on the new clone movement.

We all know the "old" 7750 and st2555 movements, masked as a P.9000 with a deco plate.
Not to bad but in many ways wrong. There are often problems with the rotor because the wight sit very high to fit with the deco plate.

And we all know the balance is at the wrong place on this movements.

But now VSF comes out with their first watch and they use a brand new clone of the P.9001. No more deco plates and no more wobbly rotors.

Ok, here we go.

7e66cce28bd30655e15f413801854e84.jpg

First step is removing the movement from the case.
The 441 is a so called front loader, that means you have to remove the crystal first before you can uncase the movement

cd46f16f31a3cf256e3bc47909baef2d.jpg

The first surprise is the stem is the same as the 7750 stem. That makes hope because the 7750 keyless is very solid.

d4bd1519593be188f3d0e3769615963d.jpg

I remove the hands and we see the CP is the real one and not a cap.

5ff4e4248c32d8bca82e31a457bbfcd2.jpg

Now we remove the case screws and than we can pull the movement including the dial out of the case

d7f4e0bdfcae80916533a6c37bdae2cb.jpg

I have a old dial from a KW 438 here and KW cutting the dial feets to glue the dial on a ring inside the case. Not so VSF with the new clone. They use dial feets and this feets are fixed with the movement.

Ok, and here we are

My first impression after seeing this movement: wow it looks really cool and well manufactured

Let's start with the break down

9b5693fa031346201a3e25237ed58ba4.jpg

Ok ok, they still using a deco [emoji6]

e338b1bbf4f2418191175a9deac613f3.jpg

After removing this deco we can see and remove the automatic bridge.

947e85b8eb8650a934253607d4abdfe1.jpg

The bridge is massiv and also very well made

baea723071faadc6fc2cbb2771dc5914.jpg

And now we also can see the PR indicator. Well, it's not really a PR indicator, because the disk is not really connected to the movement, but the disc spins freely and so the PR indicator will always shows a different PR.

Now we can remove the barrel and train wheel bridge

4d604fd75faeb687a9dabf98d8b721f0.jpg

This bridge is also very well made and looks very massive

9d82f776bf8da5a24eefb7ba227eca8d.jpg

ad96f10ac7316f07acafec30792f8dc6.jpg

We also can see now the train wheel and the wheels looks very similar to the 7750 wheels. The barrel also looks like one from a 7750.

Let's turn this thing around, we see the GMT wheel and the date disc

80eed68a281d110e8ae8e7246693bb6e.jpg

They have improved the GMT function and I really like this improvement. The GMT on the old 7750's and st2555's makes sometimes problems, the new one here looks much better, well done.

But, and now comes the first big BUT, they have constructed a nearly new movement and improved the complete GMT module, but why they don't do it right and have done a 12h GMT like the gen P.9001 have?
It's still a 24h GMT and this makes the GMT hand at the 441 still useless for me.

Ok let's go on with the break down.

The DW looks good

90bf0ec71203dcfd9d940b059b19d5b1.jpg

0ae87d5af63b57cf1c90e85b44dbf8ba.jpg

And underneath the DW we get a idea what we will find next

fa80fdb109014b16cbcb68f4c3b205c0.jpg

The 7750 keyless

2a0c0d788847596a3f07a1a7d9d70981.jpg

But if you take a closer look you will notice the keyless is not the same as a 7750, it's mirrored!

So it's the same good construction like a 7750 but completely different. Good news here, if the stem breaks you can use a normal 7750 stem for replace.

So, the movement is completely in parts and here are some pics of all parts

9fb88ff8eca89a649c161b3254750880.jpg

Now the result of this break down:

First of all, the movement is good, really good.
In my opinion is this the best clone movement I have seen.
The constitution is very solid, the movement I clean and good manufactured.
Servicing this movement is not real a problem and I will do this every time again (not like the P.3000 clone)

But there are some bad things, as always.
First, it's not really a P.9001 clone because it just looks like a P.9001 but it don't have the same features like the real one.
Especially the 24h GMT hand is a bit disappointing.
Next think, but this is the problem with all clones, if something breaks you will not find spare part.

The end result is, this is a very very good movement and I'm really looking forward to some new reps from VSF with this movement inside.

Here are a pic from the timegrapher

And the re-assembled movement

Well, it looks like some pics don't work. Sorry for that, but I can't edit my post, unfortunately.

Awesome Chris... and in time record

Fortunately I agree with you in all of your comments and this movement looks really good and its manufacture is high quality

I will try to get some different points in my review and try to get another points of view, but that will be really difficult because yours is almost impossible to be improved

What about the oiling ? Because I have seen a bit dry the oiling of my sample.

I have already published my first impressions and some pics in the old thread:

Good job Chris. Congrats

Thanks ALE,
Your right, the movement is very clean but not really good oiled. It's like 99% of all movements in our reps.

Here is the VFS next to a KW 438.

The VSF is the one with the gen asso strap (right and down)

You are welcome
I think is more a dry or "dense" oil than a lack of oil, maybe due to chinese watchsmith has left many time the oil open and got dust and dryness
I cannot well say in English my thoughts

I guess they also don't use Moebius oil in these Chinese movement factories...more a cheap and not so good oil.

Great and informative tear down, Chris. I'm usually not a bandwagon jumper for these new movement 'improvements,' but this one looks pretty close to the real deal!

Thanks guys for the kind words.

BTW: the KW ceramic bracelet fits perfect with the VSF441.
I guess the case is from the same supplier

Awesome Chris!! Thank you. I love seeing these newer movement tear downs, like the one on the big pilot ZF you did. Question for me is will any good watchsmith be able to service this with moebius oil and possibly place viton gaskets? I'm on the fence to whether viton gaskets are overkill, I've read Rolex doesn't use them... happy New Years!!
