Leather Straps on Corum AC?

Has anyone tried putting a leather strap on a Corum Admiral's Cup? I really like the rubber it comes with, but was just wondering what this would look like if I wanted to mix it up a bit.

Anyone have any pics of this? I read the lug size is 24mm, so it may be possible to use PAM straps.

I would try this on my own, but my AC hasn't come in yet...i'm just jumping the gun here.

I think I would like it. Nobody really uses a $12,000 watch for sailing anyway, so I never really understood the rubber strap thing.
