the flaws are present, again the "stupid" ones that could have been easily avoided but I still like this watch.
this time JB has made the crown winding tool in order to easier wind the movement since it is a pain in the ass to do it via the small crown..
enjoy the photos :

So this is a rep of the 45mm gen with the winder guard? What are the flaws you're referring to, dadog13 ? I personally love that they don't have the extra BBR yellow gear, and that the silver thing sticking out toward the position of the winder is much more true to the original.

Really wish they could take this version of the movement and put it in the case the size of the BBR watch...

I cant find any 45mm tourby excaliburs on the website other that the spider type. The 42mm seem to have the bezel with the tringle cut out all around, 45’s all seem to have the minute numerals on. Could be mistaken, could be an older model i dont know. Its a beautiful watch either way and im very much eying up the rose gold version.

You have the photo of the gen in my post #1
You have the reference in the title RDDBEX0260
You have to realize that some RD models are extremely limited and there is no track about some of them on the internet, especially if it is the case of some older models.

Google RDDBEX0260, select “images” search and have a look what comes out. There are some other way to browse the web for photos, you just have to use your imagination.

There are some flaws in this release (example the inner bezel marks, red dots on gen vs white lines on rep)..

As per rep vs gen.... I get the desire to be as close to gen as possible. Part of the hobby and all.

Be aware though that if you goto buy a gen, the boutique/ad will not allow you to handle it if there are other guests shopping. Once you are alone they will lock the doors and the guard will take a blocking stance at the door.
Just saying that the chances of you fooling someone is slim to none unless you hang out with a select crew.

I was able to try on any of the RD watches in the Marina Bay Sands boutique including a couple double tourbillons... Seems a bit overkill for an AD to do that?

Yeah what were you wearing man a nike tracksuit or something? They let me try on the double tourby and the knights of the round table at harrods. No security or anything, to be honest the whole shop was completely unmanned until i asked a dude walking around outside if i could try on a few pieces!

Ive found Roger Dubuis boutiques to have done of the best sales associates, along with the Richard Mille boutiques.

dadog13 knows more about the errors than i do. I dont really care about them to be honest im just happy to have a skeletonised tourby that actually looks cool. Looking at the post though the markers are different, the angle on the inside bezel is different, the cote de geneve is different, the weird silver thing above the cote de geneve isnt on the gen, the notches on the bezel are different. Quite a few things really

I hope that they fix those things at the version 3 or 4 if we are lucky.

Not a chance man its part of the movement. If it cost noob as much as is speculated for the a4130 movement and they have been sold out since day 1 i think the likelihood of a 1:1 roger dubuis movement is 0!

Its a 250k watch for probably 5k if the last one is anything to go buy. If you’ve got the dough buy it. If not look on in wonder with the rest of us. Also if 5k seems steep, bear in mind Most of the major manufacturers dont even make double tourbys. Its not an easy complication to have 2 balance wheels let alone ones that spin around!

I don’t know mate if this is a fair comparison.
Left gen is a different model than the model that the rep is...repping.

Also it has the crown guard down where rep is in the open position in the picture.
The BBR is much closer than the JBF as mentioned. Your picture is the JBF.

My observations:
The movements are similar at first. But after examining the gen you see that it’s in a different league. It’s much “tighter”.
Also the bridge work in gen is in a different universe of quality. It has a platinum detail in it that is incredible.

The crown in gen (without the crown guard) is huge. Like an IWC Big Pilot. In rep it’s sort of wimpy. The new crown guard edition fixes that...but I can’t find a CG gen that has the same inset features. Maybe you know a link?

All in all it’s still a great rep watch. I just got my new JBF today and am in love. It shiny, it has cool moving pats that you can see from the top of the watch. It’s nice.
