They are not using their 8500 clone movement into this one...
Smp does not use the 8500 hence not in the rep either!

Yes, they go for 8800 series..It would have been nice if VSF was able to adapt their 'in house co-axilal' 8500 movement to this 8806...think about having a PR close to gen....

Then why did they bother to make deco plates?!
For me the big deal would have been the power reserve. Also they have this movement in their hands, is not something that have to be developed from scratch....

For the very same reason they use the ‘8806’ inside this Nekton instead of the 8500 > to make it as close to the gen as possible. As mentioned earlier, the watch doesn’t even use the 8500 so why would they put another movement in just for PR to satisfy you lol? Get the damn thing serviced.

Because they put this movement into the standard smp which has a display back. Pretty simple really! Why would they do anything different for this watch. It is only a rep after all!

Sorry guys, my bad. I thought that 8800 is a double barrel movement, the same as 8500 and 8900....it is in fact a single barrel so now I get it....

Beautiful piece. Little bit more feminine than say the ceramic and titanium version I have been wearing for some time but that’s not a bad thing. Looks pretty.

That's nonsense, date change and time settings in 8500 style would make this excellent rep a fantasy.
Agree with you now. My initial thoughts were related to the fact that I believed that 8800 series was a 2 barrels movement, same as 8500 and 8900 series. Since is a single barrel movement all what I said about having the 8500 inside this watch is nonsense.

I'm struggling now! Having pivoted to Omega from Panerai, I'm having real trouble choosing between the Seamaster Nekton, the white dial VSF 2018 Pro Diver, and the Noob V6 1948 LMPO. Ho hum! Any thoughts?

The LMPO is absolutely beautiful, and you won't regret buying it. I'd say grab the LMPO first and then see if you want to expand to Nektor on rubber or bracelet. I own the LMPO on bracelet and am considering the Nektor on bracelet as well.

Hont website is down, contact hik via WhatsApp. He has a crazy influx of order not sure he will make it before cny, jtime posted one day on reddit that he had a some watches in stock and the nektor was one of those.
The watch just got here and it is a stunning piece. The dial and laser ablation of the bezel is done really well. It doesn't shine as much as the gen but then it could be the studio lighting in the videos I have seen. The lume is brilliant. Pearly white, unlike the regular seamaster rep (which had yellow hues) and glows perfectly.
