Hi Omegafans,

I'm looking for your feedback and expertise on this beautiful Omega 165.024. Based on my knowledge and what I've checked out on https://www.omegaseamaster300.com/ the watch seems to be gen but I'm not convinced to color of lume and the typography on the caseback.

Please let me know what you think. Thank you for help!!!

Indeed, there are rep SM300 cases which take gen movement, yours does not looks like a rep. for my eye this is gen bezel, gen HF case.
Plexi I don't know, does not seem to have omega logo, does it?
23mil serial is dated for around 1966 and makes sense it could be cased with 1967 parts (like crown and bezel insert). Does it have Extract from the archives?
Dial is gen imo. Hands I don not like, baton hands were ealry production, till around 1964, but baton hands are against UK MoD standard.

Thank you so much k4jun for the expertise! Unfortunately, I don't have extract form the archive.
The plexi is in bad shape but it has omega logo, I've checked on different angle.
Thank to your observation and pointing out the hand. I've just checked them, and you are correct. This type of hands is dedicated to 1962-1964

One of the online specialist mentioned that" There is a belief that Omega had a transition from baton to sword hands around 1965. But as discussed previously, Omega used parts as long as they were in stock. It is highly likely that Omega used baton hands after 1965, but I would be suspicious of pieces with baton hands dating from 1968 and 1969. (http://thatwatchandmore.blogspot.com...aster-300.html)

Truth be told, I haven't found after few hours of searching baton hand on the military dial.
I have also quick question about placing of the letter "T" on the dial. This one is in the upper part of the dial, under the logo, and the majority pieces I've seen, the "T" located in the lower part of the dial. What's the difference?

Yes, a majority of military dials do have "T" on the bottom, but there were military dials with "T" placed on the upper part and those dials are legit too. Tho, I do not know the reason why "T" 's been placed in those various areas.

True, Omega stocking policy might have caused that the earlier production part is overlapping its original "period" and can be found on the later production watch. That's not a problem with those hands.
This is UK military watch made according to specific requirements, I do not believe UK MoD would give Omega any liberty in installing baton hands.
MoD paperworks is rather clear about the shape of the hands.

Personally, I wouldn't be buying the military watch without the extract. If this movement was cased into a military watch - you will see such note in the extract.
Extract costs around CHF 150, and I think it is worth ordering it - price difference between a military watch vs civil/franken watch is much much more than CHF 150.

The T dial is killing me. See link below.

Do.you have a crown pic? The batons were a part of the era as you can see from the collectors guide. Many idea what service this was for? Army, Navy, Air doods?

DaleM - I really appreciate the help, this link clarified a lot!

I don't have the crown pic but I know that the watch was supplied to the British Royal Air Force

First of all I say “hi to the community” as a very new member.

Who can suggest me a TD to buy the seamaster 300 of the 60’s or 70’s?

Thank a lot for your replay
