after reading a lot about the watch here i bit the bullet and orderd the VSF V3 from TT ( Andrew ) ( with uk transhipping as i live in the unholy land Germany )

i have to admit i have one of the cheapo NO TIME TO CRY watch from ali.com it is the full stanless steel shiny one ( ill put the nato strap on it ) only cost me 40 bucks so ok for fun but no way is it a quality rep

i chose andrew as he seemed to me to be the best one i had mailed and answerd all the questions and worrys about shipping ( also about the bezel buisness on the watch )

it might not seem a lot to many here but i would rather pay a few bucks more and be safe ( with our customs and so on ) as loosing a few hundred bucks

pics and updateds i can post if wanted

Well out of order imo. You may as well steal the food from his children's mouths. It's not like you thought you were buying the Gen. Mean.

Meh. Call out false advertising as you see it. Disregarding the obvious oxymoron of insisting that China adhere to their own false advertising laws while we all buy illegal goods from them, there is still something to be said about actually uploading a photo of the item you're selling, it's not difficult. Plenty of other people use DHGate other than just the peeps on this forum, and while we understand what the pics of the gen are and what they technically represent, there are people who aren't that knowledgeable and are likely to get bamboozled. If one guy who gets bait-and-switched calls it out and they replace the photo with what they're actually selling, seems like time well spent to me :) .

Really? You really think someone thinks they're getting a Gen £7k watch for $80?

Ok, for argument's sake, let's say one in a million customers is badly learning disabled and really thinks he's getting the pictured watch - why not let him complain and get his 50% discount back. I still don't think it's right that someone knows exactly what he's getting rips the seller off. Reminds me of those guys that do chargebacks on the TDs. Anyway, on with the watch thread.

No, that's not at all what I said. A good rep can be indistinguishable from a gen. Therefore a photo of a good rep can be indistinguishable from a photo of the gen. So it's not unreasonable for someone to expect that they're getting something that looks almost exactly like the real watch. Especially if they don't know what pricing to expect. Doesn't make them learning disabled lol. Just uninformed.

I just mean it's not expecting the world for the seller to upload a photo of the actual product. Surprised that that is somehow a controversial opinion.

What you say is right, it's just the charge back bit that leaves a foul taste in mouth. You could have made your point and save the uninformed buyers soul in another way imho.

in any case, this thread is interesting, let's not derail it and quit the OT here.

Wont you still get custom issues due to UK not being in EU anymore?

So I can’t believe Mr burgundy ‘S v2 hasn’t sold yet. The guy bought this as a service to us on this community to do a side by side for which we are all grateful. He shouldn’t be out of pocket as a result.

I propose as a gesture of good will that we do something to pay back for this service.

I’d just happily send the guy let’s say $20 and I’m sure many others would ....but if he agrees we could make it more fun.

How about a raffle where each of us sticks in a donation to Mr burgundy , when he has his $400 usd then he chooses a winner at random?

I’d say $20 per ticket. 20 tickets up for sale. Giving A 1/20 chance of winning a brand new v2 Seamaster 007?

Just a thought for discussion....

I'd be up for this. Isn't there a raffle feature on Reddit to keep everything shipshape and above board?

Wow guys, thank you—this really is an awesome community!

A raffle for the watch sounds like a great idea and I would be more than happy to do that. I've even got a couple of collectable Omega promotional booklets for the 2006 Bond film Casino Royale (they sell on eBay for about $50AUD each) that I could give out as a few runner up prizes.

BUT, first we'd definitely need to get permission from the higher up's here at RWI and make sure something like this would be allowed. I'm sure they'd first like to have a good chat to me before I take money for tickets from a number of members. Not sure who I'd talk to though?
