LOL you’re probably right though I’ve seen imperfect alignments on this model gens b4.
Our hypercritical RWI QC eye...

You've seen this model gen? Any pics? I didnt even know this was out, let alone a large enough quantity to start identifying flaws.

Many of us could be deeply disappointed, as it's not easy to rep this beauty.

- The strap: I think it's a huge challenge. If it's not perfect, it would be a huge tell.
- Dial: that color ...... let me be skeptical.

On the other hand, the bezel is not a challenge. ZF already did the same on Tudor Pelagos and the outcome is really good. This is already overcame.

If VSF leap on this, I'll pull the trigger here. But, let's see what VSF brings to us, as I stated previously .... it's not easy.

Call me optimistic, but they could get the NATO version right pretty easily. I agree the bracelet would be tricky, but dayum I need it...

Omega announced today it's shipping, so maybe the factory has a pre-order

I tried the gen on a couple of days ago in the boutique in Geneva. It was a lovely watch, but the clasp on the bracelet was a deal breaker for me. The design of it means the bracelet won't sit probably on a 6.5" wrist, and sits off on one side. It would probably be ok on a 7.5" wrist.

Compared with a standard Seamaster the bezel is a bit thinner, mid case thinner, but case back sits more proud. Unfortunately this thicker caseback means on the Nato it sits far too high on the wrist.

The dial has a grainy effect. The faux patina looks great in photos but pretty garish in person (certainly under boutique lighting). The bezel scallops are too shallow now which means turning the bezel is quite hard, especially as titanium is a bit more slippy than steel, and in turning it my fingers slipped quite a few times. This want helped as both bezels seemed to get stuck on their way around (maybe poor assembly). Also on the version I tried the lug holes seemed misaligned so the top bracelet looked to be at an slight angle.

The domed bezel isn't as curved as I thought it would be - it's very close to a black bay with a boxed curve rather than a true emulation of a Plexi.

But the biggest issue was that the clasp on the bracelet is very highly curved so on anything less than the last 3 holes it's going to dig into the wrist. Also because the mesh tang is under not over the bracelet it sits very proud off the wrist and isn't a great design. But the clasp design and action is nice, but it's basically the same as the rubber ones for the planet ocean etc.

My overall rating is a 4/10 - a great attempt at a design by Omega but not fully road tested before being brought into production.

I was very excited when it was announced, but after seeing all the pics and videos I must say that I find the regular SMP much much better. This one looks cheap, especially on that circus nato.

I'm not overly excited about the mesh and the nato doesn't seem to sit right, would this fit on the other seamasters rubber strap?
