Well this just arrived today from the watchsmith...

I’m very impressed with the v6 as a franken base. The a2892 is obviously an ideal donor movement as the 2500 is essentially an eta 2892 with additional co-axial bit.

So everything fit perfect.

This has: Gen dial, hands, datewheel, bezel and nato.

Rest is stock v6 lmpo. Crystal, crown and he valve are so good there is no point investing in gen for these parts.

Gen Caseback is on the way, I’ll post an update on whether it fits in a day or two.

The only slight issue in building this is the stiffness of the bezel. It basically won’t turn but it snapped on super firm using the rep retaining spring in the gen bezel assembly. Can’t say I’ve ever used the bezel for timing anything so I suppose I

can live with it.

Great looking watch!
I own a LMPO V6, I thought about changing the DW, since it's not using the correct font. I assume the easiest way is to ask a TD for an LMPO V5 DW? will it fit V6's?
Nevertheless, I'm open to suggestions :)

I’m sure you may be able to source a 2892 dw with silver numbers from somewhere like eBay or cousins.

So I can confirm the gen caseback fits the v6 lmpo case very nicely.

Just need to find a decent bracelet for it now. I’m hoping to source a 20mm noob crpo bracelet as I prefer the clasp on the crpo.

mate, forgot to ask, did you notice any difference in case thickness between V6 and previous versions?
Cheers

Not that I can tell mate. I don’t have callipers to do it properly but using slightly more rudimentary methods I’m pretty certain the case thickness is exactly the same as gen at 14.5mm.

Further frankened with a new gen rubber strap.

Very pleased with this watch.

matt2302 very nice build. May I ask where you sourced the Gen dial, hands and bezel? Offrei and Cousins? Is it just the insert or the bezel as well that is gen? I have an LMPO V6, but keen on another watch so wanting to do a pumpkin build with another V6 case.

U.K.
Why would you replace the back of the LMPO with a non-LMPO caseback?

Because it is no longer an Lmpo! They have very different script on them.

Great work buddy

I did the same build when the original lmpo came out a few years ago! Parts were easier to find then new from cousins! Much harder now.

I get that - but why start with this base and not just source a VSF PO if (it appears) the only thing he was going for was the case? Said another way - why is the v6 is better Franken base than any other Omega PO rep?

There is no VSF PO as far as I know. Maybe you are thinking of the VSF CRPO? Thats a different case, much thicker. If you want to use a rep case for a PO 42mm build, the LMPO is the only one with the correct case. Now if you want to do a PO 45mm build, then you can still get the UPO 45mm case as a base.
