Hi all, very happy that I have added this Omega to my collection. ItÂ’s an Omega Seamaster Professional Planet Ocean (UPO) 42mm with a 2824 movement. Runs very smooth and the power reserve is nice as well.

The watch has a gen crown and HE valve already. It also has 2xAR. My question is, where to start on getting closer to gen? What are the biggest tells and which gen parts will have the most impact?

Thanks for the help guys!

Insert
DW
Dial
Hands

In that order

Difficult to get parts these days though. Ofrei still has some, cousins has restricted them.

Thanks mate, appreciate it. I see you say insert, is the bezel itself ok? And can I buy a gen insert only, can’t seem to find it seperate from the bezel on ofrei (or not looking in the right section)..

Bezel+insert is nice but $400 is a bit steap..

You can only buy the bezel and insert together if purchasing new. Honestly, it’s not worth frankening this watch due to the price of omega parts now, unless you can find the parts used for cheaper. You should be able to find a used bezel if you are patient. If you can find a used bezel and dial and new date disc and hands, that might work financially

You must search for Omega Gen Parts here in the Forum ,Ebay , Chrono 24.
www.cousinsuk.com,www.ofrei.com/ does not have many Omega Parts anymore You do not get any more parts from Omega for sale.
But if you are patient you can build a nice franken butt a
I own two franken Omega Po and love to wear them.
Good luck in the forum here is a lot of information about Franken Omega Po

You are better off like Mercedes says just keeping an eye out. When I did my first one I only bought a few new parts I did most of it from here and the other fora.

The 45mm bezel didn't fit straight on the case without major adjustments but I think the 42mm is better. I will have a gen bezel with black insert for sale soon, in great condition and for comparatively cheap.

Hands I have seen recently on eBay or chrono24, search both.

Dial is probably the toughest to find, just requires some patience.

Date wheel is one of the available parts on cousins I think.
