Hi all, I'm 22 and from the UK. Came on here basically to find a good source for a nice datejust, after going to a few conferences recently (for my marketing company i own in the gambling sector) and after seeing all the drool worthy watches - I decided I really want to get one!

I've just brought some nice navy blue suits to complete the look and I'm after something with a silver bracelet that is quite "blingy" and would look nice sparkling away. The only thing putting me off the Audemars is the fact it's a pricey model, the datejust for example could be well within my price range as a young man buying used and more believable being a rep. I'm choosing a rep because I would probably wear it to the gym and running so might risk a few bangs...shower with it, so it makes sense - That way I can replace it every few months as the sources make new ones! Currently looking at intime at all 3 pieces. Looking to go for the $400+ best quality reps to get the closest as I can. On a side note I have a Sony A7S DSLR camera so will be sure to spam the board with some crazy shots using my monster lenses :p Also the look I'm going for is "neil caffrey" from white collar if you guys have ever watched that series :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Have you thought about a 36mm datejust? There aren't that great of reps of the 41mm dj2. You can get a custom build 36mm dj with gen parts for under $1000 that would be practically gen. Also you might think about a tc submariner. It's pretty well the closest out of the box you'll get to gen and would look great at your conference

I'm looking at spending about $500 to be honest, Yeah I am not feeling the datejust to be honest the more I think about it, the daytona seems a safe bet as I also do lots of video recording and casual wear and it seems like it could become a dressy watch quite easily.

What do you guys think about me rocking the black dial daytona? Looks like I will have an easier time getting a good rep of this one.

Daytona 116520 JF 1:1 Black Dial on SS Bracelet A23J on "intime.co" looks very promising, and such a good price! Any other reps that are just as good or better? I also love the sound of "upgrading" the rep with gen parts to make a near enough perfect copy. That sounds legit as hell! Just buy used parts for cheap lol. Man this place is awesome.

I don't know that much about the Daytona reps. I know there are a few variations. I think none of them are super reps. I think you can get one with a7750 movement but it's not a reliable movement. Or you can get one with the 23j movement but then it has frozen chrono functions. I stay away from chronograph reps personally because they are either unreliable or not quite accurate.

Have you thought about a Submariner? Or an omega? Or a tudor blackbay?

Thanks Maron your right, the submariner does look good but because they are so common and don't think I could get away with it in a suit (I'm not James Bond!). Not bothered about the chronograph. Some good points though.

Regardless of brand this was my intial purchase I was going to make here of a montblanc

So anything around that style really. Silver bracelet and a nice classy face. I do like the idea of having something uncommon and not "rolex".

So you're looking for non-Rolex, under $500, clean/simple/classic/versatile.
I personally would go with the APRO Jumbo from JF factory. This is as classic and versatile as it gets, and the rep is very high quality.
If you're looking for something else maybe take a look at the Omega AT white dial or the IWC Portofino on mesh bracelet? I'm not personally familiar with the accuracy of these last 2 reps, but they're within your budget and seem to be in the general style direction your shooting for.

A JF 15450/15400 would be great but it'll be difficult to conceivably have more than one watch in your collection (due to overall gen equivalent value).

After being here a few months I can pretty much guarantee that you'll want to buy other watches.

Therefore another option is to buy 2-3 reps of cheaper watches - that you could rotate.

A mont blac time walker chrono on bracelet is very blingy (also very nicely repped indeed).

You can switch the bracelet for a hornback gator strap on more casual days.

Tudor ranger heritage looks good as well:

He doesn't want AP because of the gen cosy. [MENTION=121572]third[/MENTION] you aren't looking for rolex but you want a Daytona? That Montblanc looks good. I second the tudor ranger but I suspect it's too much of a tool watch for you. I think the omega aqua Terra might be perfect for you.

I disagree though, I think there's no problem wearing a black sub with a suit
