Hi. Always loved watches reps and gen. I have a gen tag and a rep noob daytona.

Daytona needs a new dial and hands.

Im looking to build a franken black sub.

Looking to use gen movement if possible si looking for a case to start off. Any ideas on the best quality rep case?

Thanks

You realize that the movement you desire will cost over 5k?

Over 5k? You can pick up second hand 3135 movements for around 2.5k. besides i was looking for some decent case manufacturers not movements.

It seems this forum is negative as hell to people perceived as newbies.

Im not plucking this idea from nowhere. I have done hours and hours of research on this.

All im after is some friendly advice

Please share your proposed build from your research, then people can give guidance on changes they propose.

Is it 5 digit or 6 digit sub your looking to build ?

3135 movement, 2500 ish alone. Ceramic 6 digit, bezel assembly 1200-1500, dial 800, crystal 350, hands 350, datewheel 150, base watch, watchsmith costs...see, you'll be around, probably over 5k. Trust me, I've done a couple of these builds.

My GMT....all genuine but midcase is noob v7

People will be happy to help, but first you have to say which model you’re looking to build. “Black sub” is rather vague

After seeing that gmt i think i have changed my mind. Ok so how do i go about building the gmt? Im fine with spend as i can buy parts over time. Is the case the first thing i should be buying?

Get a noob GMT for a base. I used a v7, but I believe the current is v9. . An option to consider is a Yuki conversation as the 3186 prices jumped last spring. The GMT parts are still more reasonably priced vs the subc. If you need specific info or details, message me and I'll give you some direction.
