Hi All

I am new on this forum and to the rep world.

I was tempted into getting this rep while I was on a trip in China, not sure which factory this watch is from, but it looks pretty good to me.

The only issue I have is the watch is running 23 seconds fast per day. Is this normal for reps?

Hi Barry, yes, 23 seconds is quite normal, and not too bad in fact - you can regulate it yourself to get it running more accurately if you want - plenty of tutorials, info etc on the internet on regulating movements.

I 'm really interested on how you count exactly those seconds.
If you use a timegrapher you can try regulate it, BUT the movement that needed by the upper handle will be probably not noticeable..
Mine runs almost 40" fast but it doesn't bother me. Gaining some seconds it's normal for every mechanical watch.

I used this machine to find out. Thank you all, at least I know it can be changed on replicas. I’m hoping i can get it near 10 seconds

The lift angle (LA) needs to be set at 44 degrees. That will give you a more accurate gain/loss time.

I use to meter mine on Tgs' timegrapher in my laptop. The head possition is perpendicular to the ground, not lying horizontally.
Can you please advice me on what lift angle should i use ?

The ETA 6497 and the A6497 lift angle is 44° by design. No matter the orientation of the watch it’s self, the lift angle should remain the same.

You should be able to get it down to 10 seconds or so with a bit of effort, maybe even less.
BTW just because it says 25 sec a day on the timegrapher in one position doesn't mean it's losing that on your wrist. Have you actually worn it? I'd be very surprised if the gain/loss on your wrist is the same as any single position on the timegrapher.

Thanks!

ps; now showing +15"/day that is by far more realistic than +40" before.

At the moment when I wear it day to day,I notice about 1 min gain. I just reset everyday when I wind it up.

I haven’t worked out how to take off a Pam back with out scratching it yet, otherwise I try the regulation.

Sticky or rubber ball usually does the trick, or make a 'ball' of gaffertape...
