looking for replacement movement for gen Omega De VillE

I have a gen omega and the movement is broken. I found a rep that's like my gen. The rep is using "Asian 2824 automatic movement, decorated to Omega 8900 movement" do you know if this will fit in the gen? and also where I can source just the movement without the case? as it may be cheaper?

Why not have the genuine omega movement repaired by a competent watchmaker? It just does not seem right to downgrade a gen deville to a franken... but to answer your question the omega movt in the dville is based on eta 28xx architecture and any 28xx clone could be made to fit by a good modder. But, for the cost if the donor and the work, you might be able to repair the gen mvt.

as Ko67 said, you can fix your movement, you can find a used one for parts, you can find a clone etc.
Whatever you decide, don't loose the gen movement at any cause.

Have in mind that, gen or clone, you need to service them sometime.

sure I got a quote of $500aud to repair it. I just thought that it would be cheaper to replace the movement with a rep. not sure what your thougts are.

You'll devalue the watch and end up spending comparable to having it serviced. Why not send it to one of our forum watchsmiths to have it serviced and repaired? it'll most likely be less then the quoted price from Omega and retain the watches value.

Have it fixed mate, once you do that to it it's worth nothing. Also some models of the De Ville used a super thin MVT, nothing else will fit them. I have one I could sell you but by the time you bought it and had it serviced it would be cheaper to have yours done.
