My Noob 126610 died after approximately 15 days of wrist time. The last time I adjusted the date and time to wear it, it didn't resume ticking. It winds and date/time setting functions work normally. The hack just doesn't release. At least, that's what it seems like.

I'm not sure whether to:
a. Send it for a service b. Replace the movement with another a2824
c. Purchase a gen ETA 2824 (aware it'll probably have mixed parts)
d. Purchase a Sellita movement and have the watch modded to suit
e. Scrap it for parts
I could try dismantling the movement to fix it, but I haven't done it before and am likely to destroy the hands or something else...

Considering the short lifespan of this watch, and as $500AUD is not spare change, it'd be unfortunate to just write it off. It's quite a nice rep other than the fact it won't run.

I feel the Sellita option wound be best, but don't believe it's compatible without modification. Any suggestions and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Andrew from Trusty Time kicked in a few dollars towards any repairs, but unfortunately that will only cover local postage. And sending the watch back to China was not really an option in my opinion.

You could try your hand at having a look at the movement. A 2824 is the best movement to learn on IMO. Simple and straight forward.

Otherwise, I would recommend a Seagull ST2130. These are great I just got 2 in for some beaters. The thing is spotless clean and runs like +1/+2 to -1 in many different positions. You would need to transfer over your date wheel with DWO and possibly the minute hand (canon) pinion and hour wheel if your rep has taller ones (all done top side with minimal disassembly).

OULIGUAN is a top notch seller!
