1680 Date Window - not centered

Hi Guys
Need some help from you experts.

Attached pics of my modded JKF 1680 with Gen Crystal. I just changed the dial to a phong 1680 and added some Patina as well. I do love the look and feel, but don’t like That the Date is not centered anymore now. Could this be fixed with an overlay? What do you suggest?

The actual date is set to 12 - not 2... First letter is almost hidden...

That’s a very nice looking 1680.

You could’ve picked a date that didn’t start with a 1, to make the issue a bit more visible!

I’ve read about phong supplying dials with the date window too far over to the right. I don’t know if that’s the issue in this case, or if it just needs a suitable overlay. The date window does look suspiciously well-centred in the cyclops, whereas they more often look like they’re clipping the left edge of the magnifying area.

Hi ,
so do you install a gen spec dial on a jkf case ?
Because I remember is not possible because the dial seat have a 26mm diameter (like the gen 5513 dial )
The gen spec dial 1680 is bigger that than 26mm.
Or do you shave the dial diameter ?

Try to change the date disc with a silver data disc I remember polexpete/Peter Park/ cityweekender but now is not listed on eBay

Yes, I Installed the Gen spec dial on that case. However, the diameter was not an issue. Just the fact that the date is not centered at all...
please find attached another picture with a single digit date. I think I either have to remove some of the dial on the left and bottom - or take another glass.. maybe start with a new DWO first to see how it looks then? Thanks for your feedback.

Maybe I’m wrong but the dial seem shaved ...the minute track seem too short ..
Please Can you show where do you bought the watch ?

Or maybe (less probable) the cartel jkf have enlarge with the new batch the dial seat and not also the dial window.


Here below my jkf with enlarged dial seat + dial window from a modder for install a gen dial .
check how the minute track are longer than your ..
On your this track are covered for half by the rehault..

Thanks. Watch is looking great with the enlarged dial seat. Attached a picture of the watch how I received it. Guess it was a Yuki Dial on it. Date matching perfect - but dial looked pretty cheap, why I decided to change it.

How would you suggest to go ahead?

Was a cartel jkf dial ...
The Yuki have all the 12 triangle with a big base that is wrong (see my arrow near the 12...)

Buy a date disc grey try riyi002 or search on eBay the seller cityweekender and try to send a message that is gen spec so better aligned !

Installing new DWO didn’t help unfortunately, but I recognized that there is a gap between Datewheel and Dial of about 0.5mm which creates kind of a shadow on the upper part of the date. I am now trying to bring the dial and DWO Closer together, hoping this solves the issue somehow.

Issue is solved. Recognized it was the Phong Dial which is not correct, as the date window is too far right. Attached a pic with a new dial. Thanks for your help!
