I have recently come into possession of a gen milgauss handset. The hour and minute hand are slightly damaged but the second hand is in pristine condition. I was curious to get your guys opinion on what would be the best plan of action to fit the gen second hand to a 2836 movement.
I'm thinking I could get a set of bergeon smoothing broaches and slightly widen the hole in the second hand to accept the 2836 second pinion. I'm also guessing you could possibly reduce the diameter of the second pinion to accept an unmodified second hand but I think that would require a watchmakers lathe unless there's another way of reducing the diameter without a lathe.
I'm not opposed to modifying the second hand, I did manage to get the handset at a pretty decent price. I think it may be better course of action to modify the second pinion (if possible) and keep the gen second hand unmodified.
