I use toothpicks everyday.

Mostly with epoxy jobs .

I use toothpicks all the time.
To hold hands
To polish beveled edges a bit more (I just glue some very fine sandpaper on it).
Put glue or Epoxy if needed.
To move the rotor around or move gears if they just need a gentle nudge and I don’t want to use rodeco in case it gets jammed up on the teeth
And plenty of other things.

Screw extractor.

Or liquid screw dissolving but for that you need a little experience and some tools.

So another point of frustration and need some guidance.

I have this Pam, it was showing some off readings so i decided to strip down and service. I did and didnt remove the balance top and bottom jewels as im still not very confident on those incablocs (i think its called). Put in the cleaner and then tried to re oil the mvmt.

Well looks like ots got worse. I have put the readings in here.

Can you guys please guide me achieve this as well?

Thanks everyone

And here is what i expected, the shock absorbing spring is out completely and now i cant happen to put it in.

Does this go back in or its a complete waste now of the balance cock? Ive tried alot putting it back in but no luck so far.

they can be reinstalled, you movement needs regulated....you are way off on beat error (9.9ms)...need to fix beat error first, then go after rate.

And i fix the beat error by the second bar on the balance cock right? Not the one with rate but the other one, right?

Oh and this is the incabloc its been nearly 3 hours of me trying to fit. Just doesnt wanna go in. Any tips to get this to go in?

And the watch now doesnt work in dial up position

Those damn springs can be a pain. I work under a microscope, sometimes up to 20x magnification. All I can say, it takes practice and to work with both hands. I "push" parts then 'trap' the part with one hand while easing the part in with the other hand.

The beat error is the "other" adjustment on the balance cock. The rate adjustment makes the spring pivot smaller (faster) and longer (slower)...the beat error is your other adjustment. ALWAYS get beat error in first. If you don't you will be chasing your tail.

I like my dial up position at about +3 sec/day with 0-.3 beat error. That way over time my watch gets more accurate.

you could always try and roll a long bit of rodico, pick up the part with only the part that needs to go into balance exposed...and see if you can nudge it all back into place.

I did try the rodico and the tweezers and tried using both tweezers. But no luck. It just doesnt push in. Maybe its not be to re put in once out? I got it to where it shall go but just doesnt push in

interesting discussion! Anyone got a quick and dirty cheat sheet on what lubes to use, I'm tempted to get into this, reading the triumphs and tribulations over the last 6 pages but just reading the last three or so posts is worrying - a lot of highly technical know how needed too.

I have got them to go back in. Hours of frustration are common.

Did you take off the hairspring from the balance coke first?

because if the hair spring is attached its so risky to poke or bent the hairspring
