Never heard of a jooltool. What are the results like? Any pictures of the results from it?
Just type it into You Tube as there are plenty of videos with demonstrations on gen watches
I recently received this Sub and like all my watches i always perform a rebrush and on this watch i limited myself to using a scotch pad only to see the results. After lightly brushing in one direction i then polished with a cloth using heavier pressure. So whats the verdict of the forum?

IMHO the " lightly brushing in one direction" is the solution!
Being honest I think the finish from the scotch pad is too rough, almost grainy it's hard to explain but you will know what I mean, maybe after a little wipe/light buff it would look smoother, though I get that this is probably the most basic method.
I'd only seen bits and pieces about the jool tool, looks nice to be able to see through the pad. How does it work for brushing though ?
I've also just bought a cheapy DHgate batman to mess around with when I get some time.

This is also the polishing machine. I use an old case to scratch up and refine my polishing

the polishing is perfect too!
To the members here who are much ahead and better than me in skill and knowledge, i came across this grinder/polisher at esslinger. Was pulling the trigger but thought id ask for opinions. I currently have a dremel style tools that i use.
Is this worth it and would be sufficient to acheive a good level of finishing?

AMHO this is a very good tool, but nothing replace the practice. With a lathe like this, with the good compounds and some work, you will be able to have very good results in polishing and brushing.
You're basically paying quite a lot here for the dustguard/fan behind the polisher. You can get a functionally identical polisher, with twin shafts and variable speed control, from eBay for about $40-60. That's what I did, and then I "upcycled" the cardboard box that the thing was delivered in and - bingo! - I have a dustguard/collector. Now and again, I empty it.*
*Okay I'm lying - now and again I think about emptying it.
Yup thats exactly what i was thinking but i was leaning towards it because of the vent fans in the back. Just the dust hoods alone are pricey on esslinger. Can you show me how you’ve managed to make the cardboard work?

Excellent! No need more!
Another advantage of the cardboard solution is that it's a nice, yielding, soft surface for stopping the watch part that's just been whipped out of your fingers by the mop and thrown into it at 6000mph.

Ah yeah, I remember when I saw that thing - it really excited me, until I worked out that for what it costs, I could buy 8 reps and the cheap polisher...
But for anyone who wants to exude professionalism (clearly pointless in my case), it's the dog's doo-dahs.
Did you know if we can still find this kind of cheap polisher as yours on ebay? May be a link?
