Hi guys,

I just purchased an ultrasonic cleaner to clean up the movement parts in my watches. Im just wondering if any of you have any experience in using different kind of solution - both for cleaning and rinsing. What would you recommend? I would prefer something that is obtainable in the EU. I prefer high quality solution and not just water/soap.

I only need solution for watch parts - no other jewelry etc.

Kind regards

You can buy some jars that will fit inside the cleaner bowl. Put Naptha (lighter fluid) in the jars and put your watch parts in the jars. Keep a second set of jars for alcohol rinse. Use plain water in the cleaner bowl. The sound waves will penetrate the glass and work on the parts in the jars.

Don't clean the balance assy or the pallet fork this way, components can separate. Use One dip cleaner.

Good point, and make sure you don't use plastic cups, as the cavitation effect would be uneffective.

Yes, plexi or plain glass are what you want.
