Hello,

looking for some advice on hollow endlink for 5 digit submariner of a particular kind, I can't explaine it well but have a picture that kinda describes it.

have a look,

can you see the slight curvature on the endlink reflection causing the "reflection line" going into a half moon position?

my ST endlinks reflections are very straight

I'm looking for a curvature such as my yuki endlinks I have on my Hamilton Khaki

anyone have on hand experience with the wso submariner hollow endlinks do they have that curve? Please share a picture of your sub with wso endlinks if some have them

thanks!

Admittedly I'm not 100% sure what your asking, but I thought perhaps it might help if I posted a picture of my 16800 with 501 endlinks (genuine) for reference.

Nice sub! I like the thickness of them lugs looks to be unpolished by the lug thickness superb :B:

There is a slight (reflection curve) on the end links many datejust have them as well on oyster bracelets. Your sub has it as well you can catch it at a right angle

Does anybody have a sub using wso (whole-sale-outlet) endlinks they can post/share a picture of? I'm thinking of purchasing them but the price seems a bit high... ST sub endlinks are like 17usd

Seems like those reflections would necessarily be a result of the shape of the HEL side links. I have had to bend those to obtain a better fit on a couple watches, so following that assumption perhaps you could achieve what you are seeking through bending.

I use a pack of artist paintbrushes, which have many different diameter handles on them. Put a handle in the HEL, butted up against the springbar collars then use a stout small piece of wood laid across the top of the HEL to apply bending force uniformly. Repeat til you have the desired shape. You can bend open again by forcing a larger handle into the space. You can also bend the side links down toward the lugs by inserting a handle perpendicular to the space. Be careful not to overbend, but the ones I've bent have been good quality and surprisingly strong.

Thanks for the tip bro! That's an interesting method, I'll have to aee about trying it this way because I have a bunch of painter/artist brushes around. I use a wooden cloths pin after its been apart from one another while the case is clamped in a crystal press keeping the bottom side endlinks tabs against the case.

I'm not sure this is the case with just bending the HEL, because my yuki links came already with that curve reflection and I've bent them every which way lol

Hey bro! I have to give you my sincere apology, you were exactly right about the reflection due to the bending shape of the side end links to create that defined curved line as the gen HEL's have.

well I attempted your suggestion of shaping the sides to create that curve, I've used a slighty different method but along the same guidelines and I believe I (imo) have achieved it and am quite happy with :) again to your knowledge thank you very much!

have a look,

it's not the best pictures but that curve line is there, not perfect but I am happy with it!

Thanks bro!

I used a wooden cloths pin like I've mentioned before, (make sure its wood) to have the endlinks working on don't get scratched.

20190914-204236-2-907x1209.jpg

taking the metal spring on you'll end up have 2 wooden wedges. Hold on to them you'll need them both.

next step line up the thicker end and wedge it into the insert opening of the end link try to center it this is important for the initial (bending)

20190914-204550-2-907x1209.jpg

20190914-204523-2-907x1209.jpg

I worked on a table top and vised down a 1x2" wood block then wedged the HEL with the cloths pin against it and vised that down as well to prevent any kind of movement while the bending process was in effect

20190914-204642-2-907x1209.jpg

I then take my other half of the cloths pin and get to work using the end gently pressing down the left and right ends one side at a time releasing the clamps and checking the curve installing the endlink to the case time and again till I'm happy with the results.

and that's it! Being carfull bending though not to make a hard crease
