Yuki 16570 eta kit, datewheel issue

I have, a few years ago, bought a yuki explorer II kit (16570). I have provided a GMT modifed ETA 2836, upgraded it to H6 and everything is working fine. However, the date position on the dial is the ETA position, not the 3135 or 3186 (or whichever is the GMT rolex movement). I have any number of date wheels for 2836 which are in the correct position, but have non rolex date fonts. I also have any number of overlays that have the correct fonts, but are not in the correct position.

I was wondering whether any of you know where I can source either a dw or a dwo, which has Rolex fonts, but fits the ETA date window position, not the Rolex one. If there are any other solutions that you employ, please let me know. Please bear in mind, before you start taking the piss, that I am not about to invest thousands into a gen Rolex movement or dial in order to pretify a watch which cost about $300.

Thank you for reading, all help is appreciated.

There are quite a few rep watches that are like yours, and that have Rolex font DW's. See this post for where to look for some, and on page 6 or 7 there is specific discussion about your issue. Some TD's will source just a DW for you, you need to ask around.

Also the DJ41 models have the kind of DW you are looking for, Rolex font, no overlay, aligned to ETA native DW position. You can ask a TD to source one of these for you. Noob parts are usually easiest to source. See this post for more info.

DW on the left is the one you are looking for

THe DW on the left I posted above came as a DW, I sanded the back off (including the teeth) so I could use it as an overly. As a side note, the DG2813's and variants use the exact same measurement DW, you can see that's what's being replaced in the pic above.

I’ve read your links and your posts on the links. Very insightful!

One thing that I did find was on ebay - a particular listing of a dwo with outer diameter of 22mm (regular DWO’s have the outer diameter of 23mm). I ordered the part, we will see if it fits. If it does I’ll post a link to the item.

Another thing that I will do, will be to, like you, sand down one of the 2813 dw’s I have, from my movement graveyard. But that will happen in a fortnight - I am at a beach on a family vacation, currently.

Can you post a link to the DW you ordered? The outer diameter is not as critical as the inner diameter, but taking a full 1mm away is a lot on an already pretty slim DW. Inner diameter is 17.3mm BTW. I wonder about numeral centering in the window on a 22mm disc.

Sure I can. Here it is:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHAMPAGN...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I think this will probably not work, but I will know for sure in a fortnight.

The only reason I did not post the link in the first place is that I don’t want to give people false hope. Once I made sure, I would have been happy to share. This is champagne background but hey, I am fine with that as long as the fonts are correct. This was the only one I found, with 22mm diameter.

I can tell you for sure right now that one will not work. It's designed to align with a date window on a 3135 dial, which would be the gen spec Rolex date window position. There are some more you can look at on Raffles dials, but IDK if any will have the 1mm right shift you need.

Oh well. None of the Ken Chua’s (rafflesdials) dwo’s work for this use case. I have just had a lengthy email exchange with him. We’ll find a solution, sooner or later. I’ll send an email to Sead next. Did you want any, in case I can get the correct overlays/ datewheels from him? Send me a pm.

I don't need any but thank you. These are your best bets to tell a TD to source
