Hi Experts,

I recently bought the ZZF Sub no date and I am loving it, it has been a week now and it is running excellent +/-2 sec which blows my mind. However, if I decided not to stop wearing this for the next 6 months I am expecting it to die sometime along the road. The rollie is advertised with Asia Clone 3130 movement, I believe that it is just a deco asia 2836 and not a real clone. My question is if it dies will I be able to replace the movement with the gen Swis ETA 2824-2 movement ?

Will the swiss movement fit the case?

If it's a decorated clone 2836 then yes, it's a direct swap. Leaving it sit for a period of time shouldn't cause it to die and not restart. Just enjoy it until either it does break or you get bored with it and sell it off. the clone 2824/2836 are very solid movements.

2824 and 2836 have different stem heights and are usually not interchangeable. Both are available as gen Selitta SW200-1 and SW220-1, so just make sure you get the same equivalent one that you are replacing.

In this case where I have a clone 3130, will the 2824 fit?

There is no clone 3130. It's a deco plate on a clone ETA 2824 or 2836. Find out which and you'll have your answer.

Factories and TDs calling a movement with a deco plate a clone of the deco plate stamp is false advertising.

I can only pull it twice, 1st to wind and 2nd to adjust the time, Im assuming 2824?

That's not a foolproof way to know. Most sites don't bother to tell you the true movement. Puretime does, and based on the crown position sitting as low as it is that looks correct. Its a 2836.

You can buy a Seagull ST2146 as a nice step up clone 2836, or a gen Swiss Selitta SW220-1 (2836) when you want to upgrade. I wouldn't change a thing until your original movement dies. I have clone 2836s running strong that are several years old now.

Would you be able to use the original crown? The zzf 114060 has 2 positions where it looks like the eta-2836 would have 3 (winding, day/date, time).

Crown and stem can be re-used. Depending on case size (previous poster referred to a DSSD), the stem might have to be shortened or replaced with a longer one.

The 2 vs 3 position setting is an internal component feature, not related to crown or stem.
