So this happened to my 16610:
Turns out there is a small springbar connecting the last link on the bracelet to the SEL.
New part ordered from CousinsUK. £1.95 for a pack of ten (plus postage) Part # 15509
Happy bracelet back together. Fiddly job though, not much wriggle room.
