I have come to realise that my movement is useless as can’t find parts for it. (Sa3135) i have asked some watchsmiths on here and on the phone but nobody can help. I want to put a new different movement in. Which ones are a straight fit? Without changing hands etc?

SH3135 or Yuki 3135 would be the obvious choice.

I’ve heard that the 2836 could fit?

a 2836 will not fit due to different crownposition hand and date settings

This is a problem with clone movements. They function like gen but parts and reliability is hit and miss (mostly a miss).

I’m a novice on movement sizes etc, but if it’s the same case size why couldn’t I get a cheap movement. That fits into the case?

Best option is spend the money, get a SH3135, have it properly serviced and should it fail down the road it will accept pretty much all genuine parts. A 2824 with movement holder can be used, but you need different hands and datewheel so all in you are approaching the cost of the SH and getting a hacked together piece.

There would still be an issue with crown height using a 2824 too so this is good advice.
