Hi all

I'm working on my silex 6538 and would like to know how I can age the bezel ring.
Originals look more brassed than steel - that's the look I would like to achieve.
thanks for your advice.

You can use a kitchen blowtorch to heat the bezel (remove it from the watch and take the insert out first!) - it’ll turn it a nice brassy colour. Then burnish it on a piece of wood. You can also sand back the effect a little, so the raised areas of the teeth are lighter than the indents.

On my side I heat the bezel with a torch and right after brushed it with a brass (or bronze) brush to leave a layer of brass on the hot metal.
Before this brassing strap I reshaped the bezel to have a more gen look, even it's still far from the thicker teeth.
