Hey guys, has anyone ever tried to install a 3130 movement into a 5513 case? I have a nice HR 5513 case. And was thinking about custom build utilizing a 3130 movement. Goal would be gen 3130 with gen 14060 luminova dial in a 5513 case. The 3130 is same diameter as a 1520, it is just about 1mm taller. And my research tells me 14060 dial is same as 5513 dial wise as well. I’ve been considering buying a clone 3130 to try and test fitment. But wanted to ask first. I also considered getting one of those sapphire case backs to see if that helps with rotor clearance as they look to be more of a bubble and less flat like the 5513 case back.

No, hr 5513 cases usually fit 2813-2836 movements, stem won’t align.. and it will be difficult to fit a sapphire Crystal . Btw, The rotor will spin freely , there’s enough space

Actually, the HR case is made to accommodate an eta 2824 or Rolex 1520/1570 so fitment might work.
It’s the JKF 5513 case that takes the 2836/2813.

Yeah the HR case can take the 1560/1570 which is I think 5.75mm tall where as the 3130 is 5.85mm tall. I also have read that Rolex 3135 stem position is same as ETA2824, thus I’m pretty sure the 3135 and 3130 also have same stem height so 3130 should fit..

It’s not about overall movement lengh, but about stem alignment. 1570 is similar to 2836 with a high dial ring, while 2824 is similar to 3135/3130. For that reason a 3135 doesn’t fit in a 1601-16014 case, for example. If this case Is made for 2813-2836, a 3135 won’t align correctly

The case is made to fit ETA 2824/2836 (2824 is installed now) or gen 1520/1560/1570 movements. So tech a 3130 movement would fit correct?

I think it’s not correct to say “2824 or gen 15xx” because they are different. Try and let me know, maybe I’m wrong. But I made a lot of vintage builds and never worked

It's not a question of where he grips it, it is a simple question of weight ratios, a 5 ounce bird cannot carry a 2 pound coconut!
