I've seen a couple detailed builds of a 7928, with folks using a cartel case like me, a2836 like me and yukis gloss dial again like me (which states on his site made for "eta2824")

From my understanding I thought most 2824/2836 stuff was interchangeable, never considered length of the feet.

When I assemble everything, with the generic super thin 2836 dial spacer, the dial's feet are no where near long enough to get any bite in the 2836's feet clamps. The only way to have enough purchase to grip the feet is if I ditch the spacer, however this puts pressure on the movement and won't allow the minute and hour hands to move under the power of the movement. Seconds hand runs fine. Hands move normal with the crown.

I guess maybe my movement has a loose canon pinion instead maybe? It's brand new but from an ebay seller I haven't bought from.

I will attempt tonight to install the dial on a 2824 and see if the feet length works for that movement with a spacer.

Also, will install hands without dial to figure out if it's pressure from dial or Canon pinion causing the hour/mins hands to not move.

Its always somethin, wouldn't be fun if it worked out easily everytime I suppose.

Whelp, Yuki dials labeled for 2824s are for 2824s. It fits nicely now, the 2824 is thinner and therefore the feet do not need to be as long as feet for the 2826.

However, I suppose I don't understand why they are manufactured longer by default that way they can be used for both movements, just trim them if they're too long for 2824. I digress. Case closed.

Every ETA dial I've ever used has had feet long enough to work on a 2836. So this is either a one off, or a Yuki anomaly. Never had a Yuki dial.

That was my thought precisely, glad I wasn't alone

now the other way around would a 2836 dial fit a 2824 movement in regards of feet length correct?

If I may pick this one up :)

Yes, but I have had to shorten feet in that scenario. I always check for this now ahead of time. After fully assembling and installing a hands/dial/movement into a case is not the time to discover that long dial feet are blocking the rotor from turning.

alright then, thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Actually I look for parts for my SD43 Franken Build, but unfortunately Trusty can only source dials from factories that have published 2836 models (and I managed to get a supderduber gen ETA 2824 from a "luxury brand" that I would like to use in my build)

Anyways thanks a lot Sir!
