Mini review. ZF Black Bay Red

Hi all. This will just be a mini review from a noob. Mainly because despite several efforts I haven’t managed to take a good set of photos yet. I just received this Black Bay from sead at supermirrors, and I am so pleased with it. I thought if anyone would like to know how good the latest BB is from ZF, this might help. Firstly, I’m no expert, but with exception of the SEL gap (which I am 100% fine with by the way as I’ve seen lots of gen watches with similar gaps), it looks pretty much perfect to me. The dial printing might look a bit flat compared to gen, but I looked very hard at a gen one before I got mine, and I honestly can’t tell the difference. Everything on this is 100% perfectly aligned. Movement is keeping excellent time. Strap adjustment was easy and screws came out nicely. There’s a little uneven distribution in the hand stack, but you would need to look closely with a loupe to see it. Lume was still visible at 5am when I woke to catch a plane today. Bracelet is fantastic quality. Smooth out of the box, clasp clicks into place securely. Crown engraving might look off centre on these photos, but it isn’t. Quality of engraving everywhere is excellent.

If somebody was to ask me what is the first rep I should buy to dip my toe in the water it would be this watch . It is a spot on rep , not too expensive ( the price of a crap fashion watch ) and a great start into the replica world .

The SEL gap is because the spring bars are a bit crap on these . If you replace for a slightly thicker better quality spring bar ( Everest ) you will find that the SEL will sit much tighter in the lugs and close up the gap .

I see you also purchased it from Sead . A great choice IMO he supplies well QC'd watches an excellent TD.
