Perhaps, I haven't read the whole back story on this.

If they were able to get that deep into the cave in the first place, then how come they can't come back out? Did the water level increase while they were in there?

This news bit just out : Elon Musk of Tesla Motors and Space X is sending his engineers to help out and find a solution on getting the boys out. He mentioned one of his companies, Boring Company, which bores underground tunnels fast and efficient with ground penetrating radar could be a viable solution. Lets see how that works out.

There is a huge amount of knowledge at the coalface over there with more arriving every day, if there is a way they will find it.
