First, let me start off by thanking RWI admins and its contributors for providing invaluable content and information, which has helped me navigate my way through the selection process of 16 watch purchases in the past 18 months. I haven't contributed much (at all) here, but I wanted you all to know that I appreciate you (in DJ Khaled fashion).
I wanted to share my 4PX shipping experience with those who may be upset over the fact TDs have shifted to using 4PX in recent months. I recently purchased my 9th timepiece from Andrew over at TrustyTime, a TD I've really become a big fan of over the past 6 months for a variety of reasons (mainly his timely handling of an issue I recently had). When Andrew sent the tracking information, I was upset (pissed) over the fact the factory decided to use 4PX over DHL, as I'd had a horrific experience with 4PX in late 2019 ordering with another TD. I reached out to a colleague of mine, who is a volume exporter on the west coast (US), who informed me of efforts over the past 4-5 months by DHL who has increased efforts to stop packages and seize counterfeit and other contraband goods originating from Asia and also the Middle East at key logistics hubs and customs points. So with that being known, I was suddenly okay with 4PX knowing that I wouldn't deal with additional delays due to likely seizure through DHL. Ultimately, I'd much rather 4PX take an extra day or two versus risking my package being seized through DHL only to start the shipping process all over again.
Now as for the actual timeline with Trusty and 4PX, I was very pleasantly surprised with the in transit timeline. My shipment was handed over to 4PX on 1/6/2021 and it's currently out for delivery with USPS today, 1/15/2021. That's 10 days, which on average has been about the same as DHL. And that's record time for USPS, given the backlog of packages in their distribution centers due to COVID and (Trump's push for) postal service budget cuts.
Details are provided below. I know this type of detail was very useful for me as I was waiting on my shipments to arrive; so I hope my sharing of this detail might help others. Keep in mind, 4PX status updates are delayed, so try not to obsess over not seeing movement for a day or so; it often takes time for their servers to catch up.
Total Time in Transit = 10 Calendar Days
Total Cycle Time (Order to Delivery, US Phila) = 20 Calendar Days
