If you had only 3 watches, 1 Omega, 1 Rolex, and a 3rd...which models and colors would you pick?

Oops I totally missed the omega haha. I’d replace the AP with an Omega Constellation. Lovely watch that

If I had to choose an Omega, it would be a Speedy. Specifically the '57 Trilogy edition. Rolex would be a 16610LV Sub and I am really tempted to go for a PAM like the 005 or 111 but I feel like you need something classy if you can only have three so I would probably go for an IWC Portugieser (non chrono) or a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin.

Interesting choices, I'll get on scoping them.

It's a difficult rep to find, so unless you go gen, you'll need to source a Closed factory model or a franken build. The early gen 2531.80(before '98) has a matte dial, and the later model has a glossy-ish dial. There's also the 2220.80, which has applied markers if that's more your thing. Daniel Craig wore that one in Casino Royale. IMHO, they wear a lot nicer being 11.5mm thick versus the modern ceramic Seamasters.

With that said, the 2531.80 would be the watch I'd wear forever if I could only have one. I remember seeing it on Brosnans wrist all the time when I watched his bond films growing up in the '90s. It's what got me into watches.

Here's my franken build, next to the same "grenade" pen used in Goldeneye

Your post rubbed off on me
my Ali cheapo Seamaster arrived to try out.
Not too bad.
We will see if it gets modded or replaced with a franken.
Since your post I have also been after a 2254.50
But it may have to be Gen.

Not too bad my friend. That's the same rep that my franken build started as, though mine had the glossy dial. You can get a fairly decent franken out of that, as the case will accept a gen crystal and bezel. Throw a 2836 with a gen dial and gen hands, and it'd be a damn good build. Idk if gen endlinks would fit though, I haven't tried them on mine yet. The only real issue with that rep is the thickness and the helium valve position.

With the time and money to build a proper frankenstein, you might as well find a nice gen. I'm getting a gen 2531.80 as the franken just doesn't do it for me anymore, and I have about $600 into mine with countless hours searching for parts. Yours is a great rep to test the water though :coffee:

Omega Speedmaster Snoopy Leather strap.
Rolex GMT II PEPSI Oyster bracelet (WG if money not an issue or SS edition, whenever they release it. I hate the jubilee bracelet)
IWC Regulateur SS.
