If you had only 3 watches, 1 Omega, 1 Rolex, and a 3rd...which models and colors would you pick?

I am curious about what your choices would be if you could have only 3 watches. One must be an Omega, one a Rolex, and the third your fancy. Truth is I want to start out with this scenario and would very much appreciate your input.

Depends on what are you looking at, you have plenty to choose from: Divers, Chronos, World Timers, Casual, Pilots, Dress etc.
3 collection for me would be:1 Diver, 1 Chrono and 1 Pilot.

I was thinking Seamaster, but leaning to Planet Ocean Omega. Rolex...undecided. What would be an example of Pilot?

No Omega, you need a Rolex Deep Sea or Sea Dweller, a IWC pilot and a Panerai 111. A watch for every occasion.

I completely agree with this, sea dweller, iwc pilot, and pam177.
If I had to answer the OPs request though I’d pick
sea dweller as a bigger diver,
seamaster (probably NTTD and I can see why other picked speed master)
and a PAM177 or 111

Yea the Deep Sea is big, plus reason why I went with Sea Dweller instead of Submariner is because everyone has one, the dweller is a bit more rare.

Good question, I tend towards divers, but there’s some absolute classics out there. 3 isn’t enough though

Omega planet ocean, rolex 5512, JLC memovox (original )

Omega 2531.80 Seamaster ('90s Bond), Rolex 16610LN, Rolex 116520(White)

Once I got rid of my GMTs, Day-Date 40, Speedmaster, and Nautilus I found what it is I truly enjoy and wear. To me, nothing beats the 3 classics I listed above.

A lot of people seem to like the wavy dial of the seamaster. I have never been a fan but haven't seen one in the flesh, only photos. Your post is convincing me it is worth a try.

I’d be happy with PP 5711 blue dial,
Rolex GMT black, and a Daytona white

If I need to take an omega it will be a MOTM-but no decent reps of this, also always loved the gold vintage seamasters and the price is really nice for those

It's a difficult rep to find, so unless you go gen, you'll need to source a Closed factory model or a franken build. The early gen 2531.80(before '98) has a matte dial, and the later model has a glossy-ish dial. There's also the 2220.80, which has applied markers if that's more your thing. Daniel Craig wore that one in Casino Royale. IMHO, they wear a lot nicer being 11.5mm thick versus the modern ceramic Seamasters.

With that said, the 2531.80 would be the watch I'd wear forever if I could only have one. I remember seeing it on Brosnans wrist all the time when I watched his bond films growing up in the '90s. It's what got me into watches.

Here's my franken build, next to the same "grenade" pen used in Goldeneye

For me, it would havre to be a Seamaster, a Daytona and a Royal Oak 15500 with blue dial but then I wouldn’t have a Panerai, would I?????
